جب مذہب، سیاست اور عسکری طاقت ایک منظر میں جمع ہوجائیں

The Wire اور دیگر ذرائع کے مطابق گجرات کے تاریخی Somnath Temple میں سومناتھ امرت مہوتسو  کے موقع پر Indian Air Force کی سوریہ کرن ایروبٹک ٹیم کی فضائی نمائش نے ملک میں ایک نئی آئینی اور اخلاقی بحث چھیڑ دی ہے۔ اس تقریب میں وزیر اعظم Narendra Modi، گجرات کے وزیراعلیٰ Bhupendra Patel، مذہبی شخصیات اور سرکاری حکام شریک تھے۔

رپورٹ کے مطابق فضائی مظاہرے کے دوران لڑاکا طیاروں نے ترنگے کے رنگوں میں دھوئیں کے نقش آسمان پر بنائے جبکہ ایک فوجی ہیلی کاپٹر کی جانب سے مندر پر پھول برسائے گئے۔ ناقدین، جن میں ریٹائرڈ فوجی افسران بھی شامل ہیں، کا کہنا ہے کہ اس طرح کے مظاہرے ریاست، مذہب اور فوج کے درمیان اُس فاصلہ کو دھندلا دیتے ہیں جو ایک سیکولر جمہوری نظام میں برقرار رہنا چاہیے۔

بعض سابق فوجی افسران نے سوال اٹھایا کہ اگر فوجی طاقت کا ایسا مذہبی اظہار اکثریتی مذہبی مقامات کے لئے جائز سمجھا جاتا ہے تو کیا یہی طرزِ عمل مساجد، گرجا گھروں، گردواروں اور بدھ عبادت گاہوں کے لئے بھی اختیار کیا جائے گا؟ ان کے مطابق اگر ریاستی ادارے ایک مخصوص مذہبی شناخت کے قریب دکھائی دینے لگیں تو فوج کی غیر جانبدار شبیہ متاثر ہوسکتی ہے۔

رپورٹ میں یہ پہلو بھی نمایاں کیا گیا کہ یہ تقریب ایسے وقت منعقد ہوئی جب حکومت عوام سے ایندھن کی بچت اور کفایت شعاری کی اپیل کررہی ہے۔ بعض ماہرین نے سوال اٹھایا کہ مہنگے فضائی ایروبٹکس اور عسکری وسائل کے استعمال کو عوامی کفایت شعاری کے پیغام کے ساتھ کیسے ہم آہنگ کیا جاسکتا ہے۔

دوسری جانب اس تقریب کے حامیوں کا کہنا ہے کہ ہندوستانی افواج مختلف مذاہب کی تقریبات میں روایتی طور پر شریک ہوتی رہی ہیں اور فوجی اداروں کے اندر بھی مذہبی ہم آہنگی کی روایت موجود ہے۔ تاہم ناقدین کے مطابق داخلی مذہبی سہولت اور عوامی مذہبی طاقت کے مظاہرے میں واضح فرق ہے۔

یہ بھی حقیقت ہے کہ مذہبی ورثہ اور تہذیبی تاریخ ہر قوم کے جذبات کا حصہ ہوتے ہیں، لیکن ایک سیکولر ریاست میں آئینی اداروں کے کردار کی حدود واضح رہنی چاہئیں تاکہ ہر شہری خود کو برابر کا ہندوستانی محسوس کرسکے۔

الف نیوز کے نزدیک اصل سوال یہ نہیں کہ سومناتھ میں فضائی مظاہرہ خوبصورت تھا یا نہیں، بلکہ یہ ہے کہ کیا ریاستی طاقت، مذہبی علامت اور عسکری وقار کے درمیان فاصلہ برقرار رہ پائے گا یا نہیں۔ کیونکہ جب یہ سرحدیں دھندلی ہونے لگتی ہیں تو جمہوری اداروں کی غیر جانبداری پر سوالات بھی جنم لینے لگتے ہیں۔

“When Religion, Politics and Military Power Share the Same Stage”

According to The Wire and other agencies, the aerial display by the Indian Air Force during the “Somnath Amrut Mahotsav” at Somnath Temple has sparked a wider constitutional and ethical debate across India.

The event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, religious leaders, and senior officials, featured aerobatic manoeuvres by the IAF’s Surya Kiran team. Fighter aircraft painted the sky in tricolour smoke trails while an IAF helicopter showered flower petals over the temple complex during religious ceremonies.

Several retired military officers and analysts reportedly expressed concern that such displays blur the institutional distance that traditionally exists between religion, politics, and the armed forces in a secular democracy. Some veterans questioned whether similar military symbolism would also be considered appropriate at mosques, churches, gurdwaras, or Buddhist shrines if the principle were to be applied equally across all faiths.

Critics also pointed to the timing of the event, noting that it took place amid repeated public appeals for austerity and fuel conservation during ongoing global energy uncertainty. Questions were raised regarding the use of costly military aviation resources for a religiously framed public spectacle.

Supporters of the event, however, argued that the Indian armed forces have historically participated in cultural and religious observances across communities and that religious accommodation has long existed within military traditions. Critics countered that there is a significant difference between internal spiritual accommodation for personnel welfare and the public deployment of military symbolism at a majoritarian religious event.

Yet, in a secular republic, the boundaries between constitutional institutions and religious symbolism must remain carefully balanced so that every citizen continues to feel equally represented by the state.

For ALIF NEWS, the central question is not whether the Somnath aerial display was visually impressive. The deeper concern is whether the line separating state authority, religious symbolism, and military prestige can remain institutionally clear.

Once these boundaries begin to blur, debates over neutrality, constitutional balance, and democratic inclusiveness inevitably become more intense.
