ممتا بنرجی نے مغربی بنگال کے اسمبلی انتخابات کے تناظر میں ایک سنگین الزام عائد کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ بھارتیہ جنتا پارٹی (Bharatiya Janata Party) نے ان کی بھوانی پور نشست سے امیدواریت کو منسوخ کروانے کی کوشش کی۔ ان کے مطابق، یہ کوشش دو جعلی مقدمات کے ذریعے کی گئی، مگر عوام اور ترنمول کانگریس کے کارکنان نے اس منصوبے کو ناکام بنا دیا۔
انہوں نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ یہ اقدامات جمہوری اصولوں کے منافی ہیں اور مخالفین کی بے بسی کو ظاہر کرتے ہیں۔ "جب مقابلہ کرنے کی ہمت نہ ہو تو سازشوں کا سہارا لیا جاتا ہے،”انہوں نے کہا۔
دوسری جانب وزیر اعظم نریندر مودی نے ایک انتخابی جلسے میں ترنمول کانگریس کی پندرہ سالہ حکمرانی کو تنقید کا نشانہ بناتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس دور نے ریاست میں خوف اور بدامنی کو فروغ دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے یقین دلایا کہ اگر بی جے پی اقتدار میں آئی تو خواتین کے خلاف جرائم کے تمام مقدمات کو دوبارہ کھولا جائے گا اور انصاف فراہم کیا جائے گا۔
اسی دوران مرکزی وزیر داخلہ امت شاہ نے ممتا بنرجی پر “ہمدردی حاصل کرنے کے لیے مظلومیت کا تاثر دینے” کا الزام عائد کیا اور کہا کہ عوام اب ان ہتھکنڈوں سے متاثر نہیں ہوں گے۔

Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to invalidate her candidature from the Bhabanipur constituency by filing two false cases against her. She stated that the move was ultimately thwarted by the vigilance of the public and workers of the Trinamool Congress.
Addressing a public rally, Banerjee described the alleged actions as a violation of democratic ethics, asserting that such tactics reflect an inability to win through fair means. “When there is no courage to compete, conspiracies take their place,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress, claiming that it has fostered fear and insecurity among citizens. He assured that, if voted to power, his government would reopen cases related to crimes against women and ensure justice.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also weighed in, accusing Banerjee of playing the “victim card” to gain electoral sympathy, stating that such strategies would no longer influence the electorate.
