28 فروری سے 8 اپریل تک کے چالیس دنوں میں، اسرائیل نے غزہ پر 36 دن بمباری کی — گویا امن کے نام پر اعلان کردہ جنگ بندی محض ایک سراب تھی۔ ان حملوں میں کم از کم 107 فلسطینی شہید اور 342 زخمی ہوئے۔
چھ ماہ قبل ہونے والی جنگ بندی کے باوجود، اسرائیلی کارروائیاں نہ صرف جاری رہیں بلکہ انسانی امداد کے راستے بھی مسدود کر دیے گئے۔ رفح بارڈر بند کر دیا گیا، خوراک اور ادویات کی فراہمی روک دی گئی، اور صرف 8 فیصد مریضوں کو طبی انخلا کی اجازت ملی، جبکہ امدادی ٹرکوں میں سے محض 20 فیصد کو داخلے کی اجازت دی گئی۔
یہ اعداد و شمار صرف ہندسے نہیں بلکہ ہر عدد کے پیچھے ایک زندگی، ایک خاندان، اور ایک ادھوری کہانی چھپی ہوئی ہے۔
مجموعی طور پر، اس جنگ میں اب تک 72 ہزار سے زائد فلسطینی شہید ہو چکے ہیں، جن میں اکثریت خواتین اور بچوں کی ہے، جبکہ 1 لاکھ 72 ہزار سے زائد زخمی ہیں۔ ہزاروں اب بھی ملبے تلے دبے ہوئے ہیں — جیسے وقت نے خود ان پر خاموشی کی چادر ڈال دی ہو۔

Gaza: A Silent Catastrophe Amid the Noise of War
While global attention remained fixed on the conflict between the United States and Iran, Gaza continued to endure devastation in near silence.
Between February 28 and April 8, Israel carried out airstrikes on Gaza on 36 out of 40 days — turning what was termed a “ceasefire” into little more than an illusion. During this period, at least 107 Palestinians were killed and 342 others injured.
Despite a ceasefire declared six months ago, Israeli operations persisted, accompanied by severe restrictions on humanitarian aid. The Rafah crossing remained closed, cutting off essential supplies of food and medicine. Only 8% of medical evacuations were permitted, and merely 20% of aid trucks were allowed entry.
These are not just statistics — each number represents a human life, a grieving family, and an unfinished story.
Overall, since the beginning of the war, more than 72,000 Palestinians have been killed — the majority being women and children — and over 172,000 injured. Thousands more remain buried beneath rubble, their fate unknown, as if time itself has fallen silent over them.
The question still lingers: does the world’s silence make it complicit in this unfolding tragedy?
