تمل ناڈو کے وزیرِ اعلیٰ C. جوزف وجئے کا مثبت حکم
تمل ناڈو کے وزیرِ اعلیٰ C. Joseph Vijay نے ریاست بھر میں قائم ان سرکاری شراب دکانوں (TASMAC) کو بند کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے جو عبادت گاہوں، تعلیمی اداروں اور بس اڈوں کے قریب واقع ہیں۔ حکومت کے مطابق یہ کارروائی دو ہفتوں کے اندر مکمل کی جائے گی۔
سرکاری بیان میں کہا گیا کہ بند کی جانے والی 717 دکانوں میں سے 276 عبادت گاہوں کے 500 میٹر کے دائرے میں قائم ہیں، 186 تعلیمی اداروں کے قریب جبکہ 255 بس ٹرمینس کے اطراف واقع ہیں۔ اس وقت تمل ناڈو اسٹیٹ مارکیٹنگ کارپوریشن (TASMAC) ریاست بھر میں 4,765 شراب کی دکانیں چلا رہی ہے۔
ریاست میں خاص طور پر خواتین اور کئی سماجی و سیاسی حلقوں کی جانب سے عرصۂ دراز سے یہ مطالبہ کیا جا رہا تھا کہ شراب کی فروخت کو محدود کیا جائے کیونکہ اس کے سماجی اثرات خاندانوں، نوجوانوں اور عوامی ماحول پر پڑ رہے ہیں۔
وزیرِ اعلیٰ وجے نے 10 مئی کو حلف لینے کے بعد اپنی ابتدائی حکومتی ترجیحات میں عوامی فلاح، خواتین کے تحفظ اور منشیات و نشہ آور اشیاء کے خلاف اقدامات کو نمایاں رکھا ہے۔ حکومت کے اس فیصلے کو ایک ایسے قدم کے طور پر دیکھا جا رہا ہے جو سماجی ماحول کو نسبتاً محفوظ اور پُرسکون بنانے کی کوشش قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Orders Closure of 717 TASMAC Shops Near Schools and Places of Worship
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has directed the closure of 717 State-run TASMAC liquor outlets located near educational institutions, places of worship, and bus terminuses across the State within the next two weeks.
According to an official release, 276 of these shops are situated within 500 metres of religious places, 186 near educational institutions, and 255 close to bus stands and transport hubs. TASMAC currently operates 4,765 liquor retail outlets across Tamil Nadu.
The demand for restricting liquor sales has long been raised by women’s groups, social activists, and several political parties, who argue that the widespread presence of liquor shops negatively affects families, youth, and the social environment.
Since assuming office on May 10, Chief Minister Vijay has highlighted public welfare, women’s safety, and anti-narcotics measures among his administration’s top priorities. The latest move is being viewed as an attempt to create a safer and more socially responsible public atmosphere in the State.
