مہاراشٹر کی سیاست ایک بار پھر ایسی سرحد پر کھڑی نظر آتی ہے جہاں اقتدار، غم اور حکمتِ عملی ایک دوسرے میں مدغم ہو جاتے ہیں۔ شیو سینا (یو بی ٹی) کی ترجمان آواز ’سامنا‘ نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ ریاست کی نئی نائب وزیر اعلیٰ سنیترہ پوار کے تقرر کے پسِ پردہ اصل ذہن بھارتیہ جنتا پارٹی کی قیادت ہے۔
اداریے کے مطابق، یہ تقرری محض ایک انتظامی فیصلہ نہیں بلکہ ایک ایسی سیاسی بساط ہے جس میں مہروں کی چالیں کہیں اور سے طے ہو رہی ہیں۔ سوال یہ نہیں کہ سنیترہ پوار نے حلف کیوں اٹھایا، بلکہ یہ ہے کہ کس کی خواہش پر یہ سب ہوا؟
یہ تقرری اس وقت عمل میں آئی جب مہاراشٹر ابھی اجیت پوار کے المناک فضائی حادثے کے صدمے سے باہر بھی نہیں آیا تھا۔ تین دن کے قلیل عرصے میں اقتدار کا یہ فیصلہ کئی دلوں میں سوالات اور کئی ذہنوں میں خدشات چھوڑ گیا۔
’سامنا‘ کے مطابق، نہ شرد پوار، نہ سپریا سلے اور نہ ہی پوار خاندان کے دیگر افراد اس فیصلے سے باخبر تھے۔ یہاں تک کہ برامتی سے ممبئی کا سفر بھی کسی سرگوشی کے بغیر طے پایا۔
اداریے میں الزام لگایا گیا کہ سنیل تٹکرے اور پرفل پٹیل کے درمیان داخلی اختلافات نے اس تقرری کو مزید پیچیدہ بنا دیا، اور یہ قدم اس لیے اٹھایا گیا تاکہ پارٹی کی باگ ڈور کسی اور ہاتھ میں نہ چلی جائے۔
تحریر میں کہا گیا کہ اگرچہ سنیترہ پوار کو کشتی کا ناخدا بنایا گیا ہے، مگر انجن اور سمت اب بھی وزیر اعلیٰ دیویندر فڑنویس کے ہاتھ میں ہے، اور اتحادی سیاست اپنی بقا کے لیے اسی مرکز کی محتاج دکھائی دیتی ہے۔
’سامنا‘ نے یہ بھی کہا کہ نائب وزیر اعلیٰ کا عہدہ محض ایک نمائشی کرسی نہ بنے۔ امید ظاہر کی گئی کہ سنیترہ پوار ایک ’گونگی گڑیا‘ ثابت نہیں ہوں گی بلکہ عملی سیاست میں اپنی آواز پیدا کریں گی۔
اداریے کے اختتام پر یہ سوال بھی اٹھایا گیا کہ ایک طرف ہندوتوا اقدار کا دعویٰ اور دوسری طرف آخری رسومات کی تکمیل سے قبل اقتدار کی حلف برداری — کیا یہ تضاد خود سیاست کے چہرے پر ایک سوالیہ نشان نہیں؟

Maharashtra’s politics once again stands at a crossroads where power, grief, and strategy converge. The Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana has claimed that the real “mastermind” behind Sunetra Pawar assuming office as Deputy Chief Minister is the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
According to the editorial, this appointment is not merely an administrative decision but part of a larger political chessboard where the moves are scripted elsewhere. The real question, it argues, is not why Sunetra Pawar took the oath, but at whose will it happened.
The swearing-in came barely three days after the tragic death of NCP leader Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, at a time when the state was still mourning. The speed of this political transition has unsettled many and raised uncomfortable questions.
Saamana notes that neither Sharad Pawar, nor Supriya Sule, nor even members of the Pawar family were aware of the development. The journey from Baramati to Mumbai, it suggests, was undertaken without a whisper.
The editorial further alleges internal rivalry between Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel, and claims that Sunetra Pawar was “installed” to prevent the party’s reins from slipping into other hands.
While Sunetra Pawar may be steering the ship, the editorial argues, its engine and direction remain firmly controlled by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Political survival, it adds, appears increasingly dependent on this axis of power.
The piece concludes with a pointed reflection: the post of Deputy Chief Minister should not be merely ornamental. Sunetra Pawar, it hopes, will not emerge as a “mute doll” but as an effective political voice.
It also raises a moral question — can the rhetoric of Hindutva comfortably coexist with a swearing-in ceremony held even before the completion of a spouse’s last rites? Or does this contradiction itself reveal the uneasy truths of contemporary politics?
