Providence, Rhode Island — A deadly shooting on the campus of Brown University claimed two lives and left at least nine others injured on Saturday, according to university and local officials.As of 10 p.m., law enforcement authorities had not taken any suspect into custody. In response to the unfolding situation, school and city officials urged residents and individuals near the Brown University campus on Providence’s East Side to shelter in place.Providence Mayor Brett Smiley confirmed that eight of the wounded were admitted to Rhode Island Hospital and are listed in critical condition. He added that one additional student sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.Hundreds of law enforcement personnel, including agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), were deployed to comb the area surrounding the shooting well into Saturday night.
