بھارت کے مختلف ریاستی اسمبلی انتخابات کے نتائج نے ملکی سیاست میں ایک نئی ہلچل پیدا کر دی ہے۔ C. Joseph Vijay کی جماعت Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam نے تمل ناڈو کی سیاست میں تاریخی پیش قدمی کرتے ہوئے روایتی دراوڑی سیاسی غلبے کو چیلنج کر دیا ہے، جبکہ مغربی بنگال میں انتخابی نتائج کے بعد تشدد، احتجاج اور سیاسی الزام تراشی کا سلسلہ جاری ہے۔
تمل ناڈو میں گورنر Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar نے 16ویں ریاستی اسمبلی کو 5 مئی 2026 سے تحلیل کرنے کا اعلان کر دیا۔ اس سے قبل وجے نے راج بھون پہنچ کر حکومت سازی کا دعویٰ پیش کیا۔ کانگریس پارٹی نے بھی ٹی وی کے کو حمایت دینے کا اعلان کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ اتحاد سیکولر اصولوں کی بنیاد پر قائم ہوگا۔
سیاسی مبصرین کے مطابق یہ نتیجہ صرف ایک انتخابی کامیابی نہیں بلکہ تمل سیاست میں ایک نئی عوامی نفسیات کی علامت ہے، جہاں فلمی مقبولیت، عوامی فلاحی سرگرمیوں اور نوجوان ووٹروں کے رجحانات نے ایک نیا سیاسی راستہ تراشا ہے۔
دوسری جانب West Bengal میں انتخابی نتائج کے بعد حالات کشیدہ ہو گئے ہیں۔ پولیس کے مطابق اب تک دو افراد ہلاک اور 433 افراد گرفتار کیے جا چکے ہیں۔ Mamata Banerjee نے انتخابی نتائج کو “سازش” قرار دیتے ہوئے استعفیٰ دینے سے انکار کیا، جبکہ Bharatiya Janata Party نے 9 مئی کو نئی حکومت کی حلف برداری کا اعلان کر دیا ہے۔
مرکزی الیکشن کمیشن نے مغربی بنگال میں تشدد میں ملوث عناصر کی فوری گرفتاری کے احکامات جاری کیے ہیں۔ کولکاتا کے نیو مارکیٹ علاقے میں بلڈوزر کارروائیوں اور مرشد آباد میں لینن کے مجسمے کی توڑ پھوڑ نے سیاسی کشیدگی کو مزید بڑھا دیا ہے۔
ادھر Kerala میں کانگریس قیادت والے اتحاد کی تاریخی کامیابی کے بعد وزیرِ اعلیٰ کے عہدے کے لیے قیاس آرائیاں جاری ہیں، جبکہ Assam میں Himanta Biswa Sarma نے استعفیٰ دے کر نئی حکومت کی راہ ہموار کر دی ہے۔
یہ انتخابات اس بات کی علامت ہیں کہ ہندوستانی سیاست ایک نئے دور میں داخل ہو رہی ہے، جہاں پرانے سیاسی قلعے کمزور پڑ رہے ہیں اور عوام نئی قیادتوں، نئے نعروں اور مختلف سیاسی بیانیوں کی طرف متوجہ ہو رہے ہیں۔

The 2026 Assembly election results across several Indian States have dramatically reshaped the country’s political landscape. In Tamil Nadu, C. Joseph Vijay and his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam have emerged as a powerful new force, challenging the decades-old Dravidian political dominance. Meanwhile, post-poll violence and constitutional tensions continue to escalate in West Bengal.
Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar formally dissolved the 16th State Legislative Assembly with effect from May 5, 2026. Earlier in the day, Vijay met the Governor to stake claim to form the government. The Indian National Congress officially announced support for TVK, describing the alliance as one based on “secular values” and constitutional principles.
Political observers believe the verdict marks more than an electoral victory; it signals a deeper transformation in Tamil Nadu politics, where cinema-driven mass appeal, welfare outreach, and youth mobilisation have converged into a potent political movement.
In West Bengal, tensions remain high following the election outcome. Police confirmed two deaths and 433 arrests since counting day. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee refused to resign, alleging that the election result was the outcome of a “conspiracy” rather than the people’s mandate. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced that the new government will take oath on May 9 at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground.
The Election Commission of India has directed authorities to immediately arrest those involved in post-poll violence and vandalism. Demolition drives in Kolkata’s New Market area and the vandalising of a Lenin statue in Murshidabad further intensified political tensions.
Elsewhere, Kerala witnessed a historic victory for the Congress-led alliance, triggering intense speculation over the next Chief Minister, while in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma resigned to pave the way for a new government.
The election results collectively indicate that Indian politics may be entering a new era — one in which established political strongholds are weakening, and voters are increasingly gravitating toward new personalities, fresh narratives, and alternative political visions.
