ہندوستانی پارلیمنٹ کے ایوانِ زیریں لوک سبھا میں بدھ کے روز ایک ہنگامہ خیز ماحول کے درمیان اپوزیشن کی جانب سے پیش کی گئی اسپیکر اوم برلا کے خلاف تحریکِ عدم اعتماد کو مسترد کر دیا گیا۔

یہ تحریک اپوزیشن جماعتوں نے اس الزام کے ساتھ پیش کی تھی کہ اسپیکر ایوان کی کارروائی کو غیر جانبدارانہ طور پر چلانے میں ناکام رہے ہیں۔ تاہم حکومت اور اس کے اتحادیوں نے اس الزام کو سختی سے رد کرتے ہوئے اسپیکر کے کردار کا بھرپور دفاع کیا۔

ایوان میں اس معاملے پر طویل اور گرم بحث ہوئی جس کے دوران اپوزیشن اراکین کی جانب سے شدید نعرے بازی اور احتجاج بھی دیکھنے میں آیا۔ بالآخر جب ووٹنگ ہوئی تو حکمران جماعت بھارتیہ جنتا پارٹی اور اس کے اتحادیوں کی مخالفت کے باعث تحریک صوتی ووٹ کے ذریعے مسترد کر دی گئی۔

تحریک کے مسترد ہونے کے بعد ایوان کی کارروائی دن بھر کے لیے ملتوی کر دی گئی۔ اعلان کیا گیا کہ لوک سبھا کا اجلاس جمعرات کو صبح 11 بجے دوبارہ شروع ہوگا۔

انسانی و جمہوری پیغام

جمہوریت کی خوبصورتی اختلاف میں بھی مکالمہ برقرار رکھنے میں ہے۔ پارلیمنٹ کی گونجتی ہوئی آوازیں ہمیں یاد دلاتی ہیں کہ سیاست صرف طاقت کا کھیل نہیں بلکہ ذمہ داری اور احتساب کا میدان بھی ہے۔

Opposition’s No-Trust Motion Against Speaker Rejected Amid Uproar in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, March 11:
India’s lower house of Parliament, the Lok Sabha, witnessed intense scenes on Wednesday as the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Speaker Om Birla was rejected following a voice vote.

Opposition parties had introduced the motion accusing the Speaker of failing to ensure the impartial functioning of the House. The government and its allies, however, strongly rejected these allegations and defended the Speaker during a heated debate.

The proceedings were marked by loud sloganeering and protests from opposition benches as members argued over the role and neutrality of the Speaker.

When the motion was finally put to vote, it was defeated by voice vote, with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies opposing the resolution.

Following the vote, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day. The Lok Sabha is scheduled to reconvene at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
