جامعہ کی فضا میں سیاست کی بازگشت
Andhra University کی فضا پیر کے روز احتجاجی نعروں سے گونج اٹھی، جب مختلف طلبہ یونینوں، ٹریڈ یونینوں، دلت تنظیموں اور بائیں بازو کی جماعتوں کے نمائندوں نے جی وی ایم سی کے قریب گاندھی مجسمے کے سامنے احتجاج کیا۔ مظاہرین نے الزام عائد کیا کہ Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (آر ایس ایس) جامعہ میں فرقہ وارانہ جذبات کو ہوا دے رہی ہے اور کیمپس کے پُرامن ماحول کو متاثر کر رہی ہے۔
مظاہرین نے وزیرِ اعلیٰ N. Chandrababu Naidu سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ فوری مداخلت کریں اور کیمپس میں مبینہ طور پر سرگرم عناصر کے خلاف کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے۔ احتجاج کرنے والوں کا کہنا تھا کہ بعض کارکنان کی جانب سے طلبہ تنظیموں کے جھنڈے پھاڑے گئے، سوشل میڈیا پر طالبات کی تصاویر شیئر کر کے انہیں ہراساں کیا گیا، اور اس سب کے باوجود انتظامیہ اور پولیس کی جانب سے مؤثر قدم نہیں اٹھایا گیا۔
مظاہرے میں مختلف مزدور اور خواتین تنظیموں کے مقامی رہنماؤں نے شرکت کی اور جامعہ کو علم و مکالمہ کا مرکز قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ “تعلیمی ادارے نفرت کے اکھاڑے نہیں، فکری ہم آہنگی کے چراغ دان ہونے چاہئیں۔”
اخلاقی پیغام
جامعات قوم کا فکری سرمایہ ہوتی ہیں۔ جب دلیل کی جگہ الزام اور مکالمے کی جگہ مخاصمت لے لے تو سب سے زیادہ نقصان علم کو پہنچتا ہے۔ ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ اختلاف کو دشمنی میں نہ بدلا جائے اور قانون کی بالادستی کے ساتھ کیمپس کی ہم آہنگی کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔

Student Unions Call for Action to Preserve Communal Harmony
The atmosphere at Andhra University resonated with protest slogans on Monday as representatives of student unions, trade unions, Dalit associations, and Left parties gathered near the Gandhi statue close to GVMC in Visakhapatnam. The demonstrators alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was fomenting communal sentiments within the university campus.
The protesters urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene immediately and initiate measures to curb what they described as disruptive activities. Allegations included tearing down student union flags, online trolling of female students, and disturbing the academic environment. The protesters expressed dissatisfaction over what they termed administrative and police inaction.
Leaders from women’s and labour organisations participated in the demonstration, emphasizing that universities must remain spaces of intellectual dialogue rather than arenas of ideological confrontation.
Moral Reflection
Universities embody a nation’s intellectual conscience. When debate gives way to division, the true casualty is knowledge itself. Preserving harmony through dialogue, lawful accountability, and mutual respect remains essential for safeguarding the sanctity of academic spaces.
