الیکشن کمیشن آف انڈیا (ECI) نے سپریم کورٹ کے احکامات کی تعمیل میں ہفتہ کے روز اپنی ویب سائٹ پر اُن ووٹروں کے ناموں کی فہرست جاری کر دی ہے جنہیں SIR (Special Intensive Revision) کے تحت “منطقی تضادات” (Logical Discrepancies) کی درجہ بندی میں رکھا گیا ہے۔ ایک اعلیٰ انتخابی عہدیدار کے مطابق، اس فہرست کو اب ضلعی انتخابی افسران ڈاؤن لوڈ کر کے مغربی بنگال کے پنچایت بھونز اور بلاک دفاتر میں نمایاں کریں گے۔
سپریم کورٹ نے 19 جنوری کو الیکشن کمیشن کو ہدایت دی تھی کہ وہ ریاست بھر میں گرام پنچایت، تعلقہ بلاک اور وارڈ دفاتر میں ان ووٹروں کے نام آویزاں کرے جو اس فہرست میں شامل ہیں۔ عدالت نے اپنے مشاہدے میں کہا تھا کہ ریاست کے تقریباً 1.25 کروڑ ووٹرز اس زمرے میں آتے ہیں۔
الیکشن کمیشن کے مطابق، یہ “منطقی تضادات” بنیادی طور پر 2002 کی ووٹر فہرست کے ساتھ نسبتی ربط (progeny linking) میں سامنے آئے ہیں، جن میں والدین کے ناموں میں عدم مطابقت، یا ووٹر اور اس کے والد یا والدہ کی عمر کے فرق کا 15 سال سے کم یا 50 سال سے زیادہ ہونا شامل ہے۔
کمیشن کے ایک عہدیدار نے پی ٹی آئی کو بتایا:
“غیر نقشہ بند ووٹروں اور منطقی تضادات کی حامل فہرستیں ہماری ویب سائٹ پر دستیاب ہیں۔”
ذرائع کے مطابق، الیکشن کمیشن کو عدالتی ہدایت پر بروقت عمل درآمد میں بعض تکنیکی مشکلات کا سامنا رہا، کیونکہ بوتھ لیول افسران (BLOs) کو درکار سافٹ ویئر جمعہ کی رات تک فراہم نہیں کیا جا سکا تھا۔
یہ پیش رفت ایسے وقت میں سامنے آئی ہے جب ووٹر فہرستوں کی شفافیت اور انتخابی عمل کی ساکھ ایک بار پھر عوامی اور عدالتی بحث کا مرکز بنی ہوئی ہے۔

In compliance with a directive of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday uploaded on its official website the list of voters identified under the “logical discrepancies” category as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, a senior poll panel official confirmed.
Following the court’s order, district electoral officers will now download the list and display it at gram panchayat bhavans, block offices, and ward offices across West Bengal.
On January 19, the Supreme Court directed the ECI to publicly display the names of voters included in the “logical discrepancies” list, noting that approximately 12.5 million voters in the State fall under this category.
According to the Election Commission, the discrepancies primarily relate to progeny linking with the 2002 electoral rolls, including mismatches in parental names and cases where the age difference between a voter and their parent is either less than 15 years or more than 50 years.
“The lists of unmapped voters and those with logical discrepancies are available on our website,” an ECI official told PTI.
Sources indicated that the poll panel faced uncertainty in meeting the deadline set by the apex court, as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had not received the necessary software until late Friday night.
The development comes amid heightened scrutiny over voter list accuracy and transparency, issues that continue to draw judicial attention and public debate in the State.
