Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district, a shocking case has emerged in which two sons allegedly murdered their father by staging a fatal snake bite to claim life insurance worth Rs. 3 crore.
The incident, initially treated as an accidental death, was later exposed during an insurance review.
The victim, 56-year-old EP Ganesan, a government school laboratory assistant, was found dead at his home on October 22.
Police initially believed he had died from a snake bite, based on a complaint filed by his son Mohanraj (26).
However, the case took a major turn when the insurance company flagged irregularities while processing multiple high-value policies taken out in Ganesan’s name.
Authorities then launched a deeper investigation, forming a Special Investigation Team.
According to police findings, the sons first attempted to kill Ganesan by arranging a cobra snake bite, which failed.
They then brought a highly venomous krait snake into the house and ensured it bit Ganesan on the neck, resulting in instant death.
To support their false narrative and destroy evidence, the snake was later killed and an unexplained delay was observed in taking the victim to hospital. Six people — including Ganesan’s two sons and four accomplices who arranged the snakes and staged the scene — have been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
