ایرانی حکام نے امریکہ کے سابق صدر Donald Trump کو سخت انتباہ جاری کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ ایران کے اندرونی معاملات میں کسی بھی قسم کی امریکی مداخلت ایک “ریڈ لائن” کے مترادف ہوگی اور اس کا ایسا جواب دیا جائے گا جو “پچھتاوے کا سبب” بن سکتا ہے۔

یہ انتباہ اس وقت سامنے آیا جب ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے جمعہ کے روز سوشل میڈیا پر ایک بیان میں کہا کہ اگر ایران کی حکومت مظاہرین کو گولی مار کر ہلاک کرتی ہے تو امریکہ “مظاہرین کو بچانے کے لیے آگے آئے گا”۔ ٹرمپ نے مزید کہا:
“We are locked and loaded, and ready to go”
تاہم انہوں نے اس جملے کی عملی تشریح یا ممکنہ کارروائی کی نوعیت واضح نہیں کی۔

ایران میں جاری احتجاج آج چھٹے دن میں داخل ہو چکے ہیں اور یہ 2022 کے بعد سب سے بڑے مظاہرے قرار دیے جا رہے ہیں۔ اس سے قبل 2022 میں پولیس حراست میں Mahsa Amini کی موت نے ملک گیر احتجاج کو جنم دیا تھا۔

موجودہ احتجاج کی فوری وجہ اتوار کے روز قومی کرنسی میں غیر معمولی گراوٹ بنی، جب ایرانی ریال کی قدر کم ہو کر تقریباً 14 لاکھ ریال فی امریکی ڈالر تک جا پہنچی۔ اس تیز گراوٹ نے پہلے ہی شدید دباؤ کا شکار ایرانی معیشت کو مزید کمزور کر دیا ہے، جس کے نتیجے میں عوامی غصہ سڑکوں پر پھوٹ پڑا۔

ایرانی حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ بیرونی مداخلت کے اشارے خطے میں کشیدگی کو خطرناک حد تک بڑھا سکتے ہیں اور اس کے نتائج کی ذمہ داری امریکہ پر عائد ہوگی۔

Tehran / Washington:
Senior Iranian officials have warned former U.S. President Donald Trump that any American interference in Iran’s internal affairs would cross a “red line” and trigger what they described as a “regret-inducing response.”

The warning followed a social media post by Trump on Friday in which he said that if Iran’s government were to shoot and kill protesters, the United States would “come to their rescue.” He added that the U.S. was “locked and loaded, and ready to go,” without clarifying what action that might entail.

Protests in Iran have now entered their sixth day and are being described as the largest since 2022, when the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody sparked nationwide demonstrations.

The current unrest was triggered by a sharp and unprecedented fall in Iran’s national currency on Sunday, with the Iranian rial plunging to around 1.4 million to the U.S. dollar, deepening the country’s ongoing economic crisis and fuelling public anger.

Iranian officials say any external intervention would further destabilise the region and warned that Washington would bear responsibility for the consequences.
