نئی دہلی — دہلی کی سیاست میں ایک اہم موڑ اُس وقت آیا جب Arvind Kejriwal کو دہلی ایکسائز پالیسی کیس میں تمام الزامات سے بری کر دیا گیا۔ روس ایونیو عدالت کے خصوصی جج نے اس مقدمے میں فیصلہ سناتے ہوئے کہا کہ استغاثہ الزامات ثابت کرنے میں ناکام رہا۔

فیصلے کے بعد میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیجریوال جذباتی ہو گئے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا:
"میں کرپٹ نہیں ہوں۔ عدالت نے کہہ دیا ہے کہ میں اور منیش سسودیا ایماندار ہیں۔ سچ ہمیشہ جیتتا ہے۔”

ان کے دیرینہ ساتھی اور سابق نائب وزیر اعلیٰ Manish Sisodia کو بھی اسی مقدمے میں بری کر دیا گیا۔ سسودیا نے کہا کہ یہ آئین اور عدلیہ کی فتح ہے اور "ستیہ میو جیتے” کا عملی ثبوت ہے۔

یہ مقدمہ مرکزی تحقیقاتی بیورو Central Bureau of Investigation (سی بی آئی) کی تحقیقات کے بعد عدالت میں زیرِ سماعت تھا۔ اس دوران دونوں رہنما تہاڑ جیل میں بھی وقت گزار چکے ہیں۔

کیجریوال نے اس کیس کو ایک سیاسی سازش قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کی جماعت عام آدمی پارٹی کو کمزور کرنے کی کوشش کی گئی۔ تاہم انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ انہیں ہندوستانی عدالتی نظام پر مکمل اعتماد ہے۔

یاد رہے کہ الزامات کے بعد کیجریوال نے وزیر اعلیٰ کے عہدے سے استعفیٰ دے دیا تھا، اور بعد ازاں دہلی میں حکومت کی تبدیلی عمل میں آئی۔

عدالتی فیصلے جمہوریت کا ستون ہوتے ہیں۔ کسی بھی رہنما کی بے گناہی یا قصور کا تعین عدالت ہی کرتی ہے، نہ کہ سیاسی بیانات۔ اس فیصلے نے ایک بار پھر یہ سوال اٹھایا ہے کہ کیا ہمارے سیاسی ماحول میں احتساب اور سیاست کے درمیان لکیر ہمیشہ واضح رہتی ہے؟

جمہوریت میں اصل قوت اداروں کی غیر جانبداری اور قانون کی بالادستی ہے۔ اگر یہ قائم رہے تو اختلاف بھی استحکام میں بدل جاتا ہے۔

New Delhi — In a significant political development, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been acquitted of all charges in the Delhi excise policy case by the Rouse Avenue Court.

Delivering the verdict, the special judge ruled that the prosecution had failed to substantiate the allegations. Speaking to reporters outside the court, Kejriwal became visibly emotional, stating:
"I am not corrupt. The court has said that Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are honest. Truth always prevails.”

His long-time associate and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was also discharged in the same case. Sisodia described the verdict as a victory of constitutional values and judicial integrity.

The case had been investigated by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and both leaders had spent time in Tihar Jail during the course of the proceedings.

Kejriwal termed the case a political conspiracy aimed at dismantling his party but reiterated his faith in the Indian judiciary.

In a democracy, the courtroom — not the campaign trail — is the final arbiter of guilt or innocence. This verdict revives an enduring question: where does political accountability end and political rivalry begin?

Institutions remain the backbone of democratic resilience. When due process prevails, even turbulence strengthens the republic.
