قومی سیاست کے ہنگاموں کے بیچ ایک منظر ایسا بھی ابھرا جس نے سیاست کو انسانیت کے آئینے میں دیکھنے پر مجبور کر دیا۔

لوک سبھا میں قائدِ حزبِ اختلاف Rahul Gandhi نے اتراکھنڈ کے نوجوان جم ٹرینر دیپک کمار سے ملاقات کی، جنہوں نے یومِ جمہوریہ کے موقع پر ایک بزرگ مسلم دکاندار کے حق میں آواز بلند کی تھی۔

دیپک کمار، جو کوٹدوار میں ’ہلک جم‘ چلاتے ہیں، اُس وقت خبروں میں آئے جب کچھ شدت پسند عناصر ایک 71 سالہ مسلم کپڑا فروش کو دکان کا نام تبدیل کرنے پر مجبور کر رہے تھے۔ دیپک نے نہ صرف اس دباؤ کی مخالفت کی بلکہ خود کو “محمد دیپک” کہہ کر بھائی چارے کا عملی مظاہرہ کیا۔

یہ ملاقات نئی دہلی میں 10 جن پتھ پر ہوئی۔ کانگریس کی جانب سے جاری تصاویر میں دونوں رہنماؤں کو گلے ملتے دیکھا گیا۔ سوشل میڈیا پر کیپشن درج تھا:
“دو بھائی، محبت کے سپاہی”

ملاقات کے بعد دیپک کمار نے کہا کہ راہل گاندھی نے انہیں یقین دلایا کہ وہ اس جدوجہد میں تنہا نہیں ہیں اور جلد کوٹدوار آ کر ان کے جم کی رکنیت بھی لیں گے۔

دیپک نے بتایا کہ واقعے کے بعد درج ایف آئی آر اور بعض تنظیموں کے احتجاج نے ان کے کاروبار کو متاثر کیا، مگر ملک بھر سے ملنے والی حمایت نے انہیں حوصلہ دیا۔

انہوں نے اور ان کے ساتھی وجے راوت نے “انسانیت جوڑو یاترا” کے نام سے ایک قومی مارچ کا اعلان بھی کیا ہے۔

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi met Uttarakhand-based gym trainer Deepak Kumar, who recently stood up against alleged harassment of a 71-year-old Muslim garment seller on Republic Day.

Deepak, who runs the ‘Hulk Gym’ in Kotdwar, made headlines after he identified himself as “Mohammad Deepak” while confronting those pressuring the elderly shopkeeper to change the name of his store. His symbolic gesture became a powerful statement of unity and shared citizenship.

The meeting took place at 10 Janpath in New Delhi. Photographs shared by the Congress party showed the two embracing, captioned:
“Do Bhai, Mohabbat Ke Sipahi” (Two brothers, soldiers of love).

Speaking to the media, Deepak said Rahul Gandhi assured him that he was not alone in his stand and even promised to visit Kotdwar and join his gym as a member.

Deepak acknowledged that the FIR filed after the incident and subsequent protests affected his business. Yet, he said he has received overwhelming support from across the country.

He and his friend Vijay Rawat have also proposed a nationwide march titled “Insaniyat Jodo Yatra” (Unite Humanity March).

This episode transcends partisan politics. It reflects a deeper truth about India’s pluralistic ethos — that courage, when guided by compassion, becomes a force of unity.
