ایم کے استالن نے 16ویں تمل ناڈو قانون ساز اسمبلی کے آخری اجلاس (20 فروری 2026) سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے پُراعتماد انداز میں اعلان کیا کہ ان کی جماعت، Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ڈی ایم کے)، آئندہ اسمبلی انتخابات کے بعد دوبارہ اقتدار میں آئے گی اور پہلے سے زیادہ رفتار اور عزم کے ساتھ عوامی خدمت جاری رکھے گی۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ 2021 میں جب ان کی حکومت قائم ہوئی تو ریاست کو سابقہ انتظامیہ کی پالیسیوں اور مرکز کی عدم تعاون پر مبنی روش کے باعث مختلف چیلنجز درپیش تھے، تاہم مالی دباؤ کے باوجود حکومت نے متعدد فلاحی اسکیمیں نافذ کیں اور مختلف شعبوں میں متوازن ترقی کو یقینی بنایا۔
وزیر اعلیٰ نے کہا کہ ان کی قیادت پر خود احتسابی، صبر، رواداری اور فرض شناسی کی قدریں اثر انداز رہی ہیں۔ انہوں نے “دراویڈی ماڈل 2.0” کے تحت مزید بہتر کارکردگی دکھانے کا عزم ظاہر کیا۔
انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ وہ ریاست کے تمام 234 حلقوں کو اپنا سمجھتے ہیں، خواہ انہوں نے ڈی ایم کے اتحاد کو ووٹ دیا ہو یا نہیں۔ انہوں نے اپنے حلقۂ انتخاب کولاتھور کے عوام کا خصوصی شکریہ ادا کیا۔
مسٹر اسٹالن نے کہا کہ ان کی حکومت نے E. V. Ramasamy (پیریار) کے خود احترامی نظریات، C. N. Annadurai کے ریاستی خود مختاری کے تصور، اور M. Karunanidhi کی انتظامی بصیرت سے رہنمائی حاصل کی۔
انہوں نے سابق صدر Ram Nath Kovind کا شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے 2021 میں تمل ناڈو اسمبلی کی صد سالہ تقریبات میں شرکت کی اور کروناندھی کی تصویر کی نقاب کشائی کی۔
گورنر کے حوالے سے انہوں نے کہا کہ ان کا کوئی ذاتی اختلاف نہیں، تاہم اگر تمل عوام کی خودداری مجروح ہوئی تو وہ سب سے پہلے آواز بلند کریں گے۔
آخر میں انہوں نے اسپیکر، ڈپٹی اسپیکر، وزراء، اپوزیشن لیڈر، اراکین اسمبلی اور سرکاری افسران کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور 16ویں اسمبلی کے مرحوم اراکین کی خدمات کو یاد کیا۔
At the final sitting of the 16th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on February 20, 2026, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin asserted that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) would return to power in the upcoming Assembly elections and continue its governance with greater speed and renewed commitment.
Mr. Stalin stated that when his government assumed office in 2021, it faced significant challenges stemming from the previous administration and what he described as a non-cooperative Union government. Despite financial constraints, the government implemented several flagship welfare schemes and ensured balanced development across sectors.
He emphasized that leadership requires patience, tolerance, dedication, compassion, and commitment to duty — qualities he believes have guided his tenure. Expressing confidence in what he termed the “Dravidian Model 2.0,” he said his administration would surpass its previous achievements.
The Chief Minister said he considers all 234 Assembly constituencies as his own, regardless of political affiliation, and thanked the people of Tamil Nadu, particularly voters from his Kolathur constituency.
He noted that his government drew inspiration from the self-respect movement of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, the State autonomy vision of C.N. Annadurai, and the administrative acumen of M. Karunanidhi.
Mr. Stalin also thanked former President Ram Nath Kovind for participating in the centenary celebrations of the Tamil Nadu Assembly in 2021 and unveiling Karunanidhi’s portrait. While stating he had no personal differences with the Governor, he affirmed that he would be the first to raise his voice if the self-respect of Tamils was hurt.
He concluded by thanking constitutional authorities, ministers, opposition leaders, MLAs, officials, and remembering the late members of the 16th Assembly.
