بنگلہ دیش کے وزیرِ اعظم Tarique Rahman نے اپنے پہلے خطاب میں اعلان کیا ہے کہ ان کی حکومت بنگلہ دیش کو ایک محفوظ، جامع اور مساوی حقوق کی حامل ریاست بنانے کے لیے پرعزم ہے، جہاں ہر شہری — خواہ وہ کسی بھی مذہب یا طبقے سے تعلق رکھتا ہو — قانون کے سایے میں برابر ہو۔

یہ بیان ایسے وقت سامنے آیا ہے جب اگست 2024 کی سیاسی ہلچل کے بعد اقلیتی برادریوں، خصوصاً ہندوؤں کے تحفظ کے حوالے سے خدشات زیرِ بحث رہے ہیں۔ نئی حکومت نے امن و امان کی بحالی اور بدعنوانی کے خاتمے کو اپنی فوری ترجیحات قرار دیا ہے۔

اسی دوران نئی دہلی میں ایک بنگلہ دیشی طلبہ رہنما کو، جو ہندو پولیس افسر سنتوش چودھری کے قتل کے الزام میں مطلوب تھا، دہلی ہوائی اڈے پر حراست میں لے کر بنگلہ دیش کے حوالے کر دیا گیا۔ مذکورہ افسر کو اُس دن تشدد کا نشانہ بنایا گیا تھا جب سابق وزیرِ اعظم Sheikh Hasina ملک چھوڑ کر چلی گئی تھیں۔

اس گرفتاری کے وقت نے انصاف اور احتساب کے سوال کو ایک بار پھر نمایاں کر دیا ہے۔ نئی دہلی کے لیے بنگلہ دیش میں استحکام اور اقلیتوں کا تحفظ نہ صرف سفارتی ترجیح ہے بلکہ خطے کے امن کی ضمانت بھی سمجھا جاتا ہے۔

Simultaneously, Indian authorities detained a Bangladeshi student leader at Delhi airport — accused in the lynching of Hindu police officer Santosh Chowdhury — and deported him to Bangladesh. The officer was killed during violent unrest on the day former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country.

The timing of the arrest has sharpened focus on justice and accountability. For New Delhi, stability and minority protection in Bangladesh remain critical pillars of regional security as the new government begins its tenure.
