منگلورو میں 1971 کی جنگ میں استعمال ہونے والا ٹی-55 ٹینک نصب، نوجوانوں کو قومی مفاد مقدم رکھنے کی تلقین

منگلورو، 27 جولائی: کرناٹک کے شہر منگلورو کے کدری ہلز واقع وار میموریل میں بھارتی فوج کے تاریخی ٹی-55 جنگی ٹینک کی نقاب کشائی کی گئی۔ یہ ٹینک 1971 کی ہند-پاکستان جنگ سمیت متعدد اہم فوجی معرکوں میں استعمال کیا گیا تھا اور اب بھارتی فوج سے مرحلہ وار سبکدوش کیے گئے ٹینکوں میں شامل ہے۔

اس موقع پر رکن پارلیمنٹ کیپٹن برجیش چوٹا نے کہا کہ جنریشن زیڈ (Gen Z) اور جنریشن الفا (Gen Alpha) کو سماجی مسائل کے حل میں سرگرم کردار ادا کرنا چاہیے، آئینی اور روایتی اقدار کا احترام کرنا چاہیے، اور ہر معاملے میں قومی مفاد کو اولین ترجیح دینی چاہیے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ٹی-55 صرف ایک جنگی ٹینک نہیں بلکہ ان بے شمار فوجیوں کی قربانیوں کی علامت ہے جنہوں نے ملک کے دفاع کے لیے اپنی جانیں نچھاور کیں۔ انہوں نے نوجوانوں پر زور دیا کہ وہ پرم ویر چکر حاصل کرنے والے فوجیوں کی زندگیوں کا مطالعہ کریں اور جنگی یادگاروں کی حفاظت و صفائی میں بھی اپنا کردار ادا کریں۔

تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے ریٹائرڈ فوجی افسران نے کہا کہ ٹی-55 ٹینک بھارتی مسلح افواج کے عزم، حوصلے اور عسکری تاریخ کی ایک اہم یادگار ہے۔ انہوں نے کارگل جنگ اور دیگر فوجی کارروائیوں میں بھارتی فوج کی خدمات کو بھی یاد کیا۔

وار میموریل میں نصب معلوماتی تختی کے مطابق سوویت ساختہ ٹی-55 ٹینک 1971 کی جنگ کے علاوہ جنگِ گریب پور، جنگِ نیناکوٹ اور جنگِ بسنتر میں بھی استعمال کیا گیا تھا۔ ریٹائرڈ فوجی اہلکاروں نے منگلورو میں اس تاریخی ٹینک کی تنصیب پر خوشی کا اظہار کیا۔

Historic T-55 Battle Tank Unveiled in Mangaluru; MP Urges Gen Z and Gen Alpha to Put National Interest First

Mangaluru, July 27: A historic T-55 battle tank, which served in the 1971 Indo-Pak war and several major armoured operations of the Indian Army, has been unveiled at the War Memorial in Kadri Hills, Mangaluru. The Soviet-origin tank is among those phased out by the Indian Army and later allocated to cities across the country for public display.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta called upon Gen Z and Gen Alpha to actively contribute to solving societal challenges while upholding constitutional and traditional values. He stressed that national interest should remain the highest priority in all their endeavours.

Capt. Chowta described the T-55 as more than just a military vehicle, saying it symbolises the sacrifice and courage of countless Indian soldiers who defended the nation in wars, including the Kargil conflict. He encouraged young people to read about Param Vir Chakra awardees and urged citizens to regularly visit and help maintain the War Memorial.

Retired defence officers present at the event highlighted the role of the T-55 in India’s military history, describing it as a symbol of the Indian Armed Forces’ determination and resilience. They also recalled the sacrifices made by soldiers in various operations, particularly in high-altitude conflict zones.

According to the information displayed at the memorial, the T-55 tank participated not only in the 1971 war but also in the Battle of Garibpur, Battle of Ninakot, and Battle of Basantar. Retired defence personnel welcomed the installation of the historic tank in Mangaluru as a tribute to the nation’s armed forces.
