سونم وانگچک کی بھوک ہڑتال اکیسویں روز میں داخل، طبیعت بگڑنے پر صفدر جنگ اسپتال منتقل؛ احتجاج مزید شدت اختیار کر گیا

نئی دہلی، 18 جولائی: معروف ماحولیاتی کارکن اور ماہرِ تعلیم سونم وانگچک کو ان کی مسلسل اکیس روزہ بھوک ہڑتال کے دوران طبیعت بگڑنے پر ہفتہ کی صبح دہلی پولیس نے صفدر جنگ اسپتال منتقل کر دیا۔ پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ اقدام دہلی ہائی کورٹ کی ہدایات اور طبی ماہرین کے مشورے پر کیا گیا کیونکہ وانگچک کی صحت تیزی سے کمزور ہو رہی تھی۔

دوسری جانب احتجاجی تنظیم کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی (CJP) اور وانگچک کے حامیوں نے الزام لگایا کہ انہیں زبردستی احتجاجی مقام جنتر منتر سے ہٹایا گیا اور یہ کارروائی پرامن احتجاج کو دبانے کی کوشش ہے۔

اسپتال میں صحت کی صورتِ حال

صفدر جنگ اسپتال کی میڈیکل سپرنٹنڈنٹ ڈاکٹر چارو بمبا کے مطابق سونم وانگچک طویل بھوک ہڑتال کے باعث کمزور اور ہلکی پانی کی کمی کا شکار ہیں، تاہم ان کی تمام اہم جسمانی علامات (Vitals) مستحکم ہیں۔ انہیں مسلسل نگرانی اور علاج کے تحت رکھا گیا ہے۔

اہلیہ گیتانجلی اینگمو کے تحفظات

وانگچک کی اہلیہ گیتانجلی جے اینگمو نے اسپتال انتظامیہ کو خط لکھ کر مطالبہ کیا کہ ان کے شوہر کو ان کی پسند کے نجی اسپتال منتقل کیا جائے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ طبی رپورٹیں اہلِ خانہ کو فراہم نہیں کی جا رہیں، جس سے اعتماد مجروح ہوا ہے۔

انہوں نے یہ بھی مطالبہ کیا کہ خاندان اور ذاتی ڈاکٹروں کی اجازت کے بغیر وانگچک کو نہ زبانی اور نہ ہی نس کے ذریعے کوئی دوا یا محلول دیا جائے۔

گیتانجلی اینگمو نے مزید کہا کہ اگر سونم وانگچک 20 جولائی کو پارلیمنٹ مارچ میں شریک نہ ہو سکے تو وہ خود اس مارچ کی قیادت کریں گی۔

دہلی پولیس کا مؤقف

دہلی پولیس کے ڈپٹی کمشنر سچن شرما کے مطابق ہفتہ کی صبح جب ڈاکٹر معمول کے طبی معائنے کے لیے پہنچے تو بعض مظاہرین نے رکاوٹ پیدا کی، جس سے صورتِ حال کشیدہ ہوئی۔ ڈاکٹروں کے مشورے پر وانگچک کو فوری طور پر اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا۔

پولیس نے کہا کہ وانگچک میں پانی کی کمی اور کمزوری کی علامات موجود تھیں، اس لیے طبی نگرانی ضروری تھی۔

سی جے پی کا ردِعمل

کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی کے بانی ابھیجیت ڈپکے نے، جو بعد میں خود بھی غیر معینہ مدت کی بھوک ہڑتال پر بیٹھ گئے، الزام لگایا کہ حکومت پرامن احتجاج کو طاقت کے ذریعے ختم کرنا چاہتی ہے۔

انہوں نے اعلان کیا کہ احتجاج جاری رہے گا اور 20 جولائی کو پارلیمنٹ مارچ ہر حال میں نکالا جائے گا۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اب تحریک صرف وزیرِ تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفے تک محدود نہیں بلکہ وزیرِ اعظم نریندر مودی کے استعفے کا مطالبہ بھی کیا جائے گا۔

سیاسی ردِعمل

وانگچک کو اسپتال منتقل کیے جانے کے بعد مختلف اپوزیشن جماعتوں کے رہنماؤں نے شدید ردِعمل ظاہر کیا۔

• ممتا بنرجی نے کہا کہ جمہوریت میں پرامن احتجاج کو خاموشی سے دبانا مناسب نہیں اور وانگچک کو شفاف طبی سہولت فراہم کی جانی چاہیے۔
• ملکارجن کھڑگے نے اسے جمہوریت اور آئین پر "سیاہ دھبہ” قرار دیا۔
• اکھلیش یادو نے حکومت پر جمہوری آوازوں کو دبانے کا الزام لگایا۔
• اروند کیجریوال نے کہا کہ حکومت کو طاقت استعمال کرنے کے بجائے بات چیت کرنی چاہیے تھی۔
• شارد پوار، آدتیہ ٹھاکرے، برندا کارات، پون کھیرا اور دیگر اپوزیشن رہنماؤں نے بھی کارروائی کی مذمت کی۔

سپریم کورٹ کے اصول

قانونی ماہرین نے یاد دلایا کہ سپریم کورٹ متعدد فیصلوں میں واضح کر چکی ہے کہ ریاست کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ غیر معینہ مدت کی بھوک ہڑتال کرنے والے شخص کی جان کی حفاظت کرے، لیکن اس کے حقِ احتجاج اور اختلافِ رائے کا بھی احترام برقرار رکھا جائے۔

• دہلی کے جنتر منتر اور صفدر جنگ اسپتال کے اطراف سخت سیکورٹی تعینات کی گئی۔

• امریکہ میں بعض سماجی تنظیموں نے بھارتی سفارت خانے کے باہر احتجاج کرکے وانگچک سے اظہارِ یکجہتی کیا۔

Sonam Wangchuk Hospitalised on Day 21 of Hunger Strike; Protest Intensifies as Supporters Vow to Continue Movement

New Delhi, July 18: Climate activist and education reform campaigner Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday after his health deteriorated during the 21st day of his indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police said the decision was taken in compliance with the Delhi High Court’s directions and on the advice of medical experts.

However, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and Wangchuk’s supporters alleged that he was forcibly removed from the protest site in an attempt to suppress a peaceful democratic movement.

Medical Condition

According to Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Charu Bamba, Wangchuk is weak due to prolonged fasting and mild dehydration. His vital parameters remain stable, he is fully conscious, and is under continuous medical observation and treatment.

Wife Seeks Transparency

Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, demanded that he be shifted to a hospital of the family’s choice, alleging a lack of transparency in the handling of his medical condition.

She requested that no oral medication or intravenous treatment be administered without the consent of the family and Wangchuk’s personal doctors. She also sought immediate access to all medical reports.

Angmo further announced that if Wangchuk is unable to participate in the proposed July 20 Parliament March, she will personally lead the march.

Delhi Police’s Stand

Delhi Police stated that doctors had arrived for Wangchuk’s scheduled medical examination on Saturday morning but protesters allegedly obstructed them. Given Wangchuk’s deteriorating condition and medical advice indicating dehydration and weakness, police shifted him to Safdarjung Hospital for essential treatment.

CJP Escalates Protest

Following Wangchuk’s removal, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke launched an indefinite hunger strike of his own. Addressing supporters at Jantar Mantar, he accused the government of suppressing peaceful protests.

Dipke declared that the July 20 march to Parliament would continue as planned. He also announced that the movement would now demand not only Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the alleged NEET examination irregularities but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resignation.
