نیٹ امتحانات میں بے ضابطگیوں پر حکومت اور سی جے پی کے درمیان مذاکرات، وزیرِ تعلیم کا استعفیٰ بدستور بنیادی مطالبہ

نئی دہلی: قومی دارالحکومت میں جاری طلبہ احتجاج کے درمیان مرکزی حکومت اور کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی (سی جے پی) کے نمائندوں کے درمیان جمعہ کو آئین کلب میں اہم مذاکرات ہوئے۔ حکومت نے غیر جانب دار مقام پر بات چیت کے مطالبے کو تسلیم کرتے ہوئے ملاقات کا اہتمام کیا، تاہم مذاکرات کے باوجود تنظیم نے واضح کیا کہ مرکزی وزیرِ تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کا استعفیٰ اس کا "ناقابلِ مفاہمت” مطالبہ ہے۔

وزیراعظم نریندر مودی نے امتحانی پرچوں کے افشا میں ملوث عناصر کے خلاف مزید سخت سزا کے لیے نیا قانون لانے کا اعلان کیا، جس کے بعد مرکزی کابینہ نے مسودۂ قانون کی منظوری بھی دے دی۔ مجوزہ ترمیم کے تحت منظم پرچہ افشا کرنے والوں کے لیے دس سال تک قید اور دس کروڑ روپے تک جرمانے کی گنجائش رکھی گئی ہے۔

ادھر سی جے پی کے ترجمان سورَو داس نے کہا کہ صرف قانون سازی کافی نہیں، بلکہ احتساب کا آغاز وزیرِ تعلیم کے استعفے سے ہونا چاہیے۔ تنظیم نے مطالبہ کیا کہ احتجاج کے دوران درج تمام مقدمات واپس لیے جائیں اور متاثرہ طلبہ کے خاندانوں کو مناسب معاوضہ دیا جائے۔

اسی دوران سونم وانگچک نے حکومت کی یقین دہانی کے بعد اپنی 26 روزہ بھوک ہڑتال ختم کر دی، تاہم انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ جدوجہد کا اختتام نہیں بلکہ جواب دہی کے ایک نئے مرحلے کا آغاز ہے۔

ملک کے مختلف شہروں، جن میں ممبئی، کولکاتا، پونے، حیدرآباد، ناگپور اور دیگر مقامات شامل ہیں، میں بھی طلبہ اور مختلف سماجی و سیاسی تنظیموں نے احتجاجی مظاہرے کیے۔ بعض مقامات پر پولیس اور مظاہرین کے درمیان جھڑپیں بھی ہوئیں۔

دوسری جانب دہلی ہائی کورٹ اور سپریم کورٹ میں پولیس کارروائی، انٹرنیٹ معطلی اور دیگر معاملات سے متعلق متعدد درخواستیں زیرِ سماعت ہیں، جبکہ سی آر پی ایف نے مظاہرین کے خلاف پیلٹ گن کے مبینہ استعمال کی خبروں کی جانچ شروع کر دی ہے۔

احتجاج کے باعث دہلی میں سکیورٹی مزید سخت کر دی گئی ہے، اضافی نیم فوجی دستے تعینات کیے گئے ہیں اور مرکزی دہلی کے متعدد میٹرو اسٹیشن تاحکمِ ثانی بند رکھے گئے ہیں۔

Government, CJP hold fresh talks as demand for Education Minister’s resignation remains unchanged

New Delhi: Amid the continuing student-led protests over alleged examination irregularities, the Union Government and representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held another round of talks at the Constitution Club on Friday after the Centre agreed to meet at a neutral venue.

Although the government announced a tougher legal framework against examination paper leaks and the Union Cabinet approved a draft amendment providing for stricter penalties, including up to 10 years’ imprisonment and fines of up to ₹10 crore for organised paper leak offences, the CJP reiterated that the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remains its non-negotiable demand.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said legislative reforms alone would not restore public confidence unless political accountability was ensured. The organisation also sought the withdrawal of criminal cases filed against protesters and compensation for affected families.

Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day indefinite hunger strike after receiving assurances from the government, describing the development as "the beginning of accountability” rather than the end of the movement.

Protests continued across several Indian cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad and Nagpur, with students and civil society groups expressing solidarity with the movement. Clashes between protesters and security personnel were reported in some places.

Legal challenges relating to police action, internet suspension around Jantar Mantar and other issues are now before the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court, while the CRPF has begun verifying reports regarding the alleged use of pellet guns during the July 20 protest.

Security arrangements in the national capital have been further strengthened, with additional paramilitary forces deployed and several Delhi Metro stations remaining closed as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
