تعلیم کے مینار مسمار نہیں، محفوظ کیے جاتے ہیں

کسی بھی مہذب معاشرے کی شناخت اس کے تعلیمی ادارے ہوتے ہیں۔ عمارتیں محض اینٹ، پتھر اور سیمنٹ کا ڈھیر نہیں ہوتیں بلکہ وہ خوابوں، امیدوں اور آنے والی نسلوں کے مستقبل کی امین ہوتی ہیں۔ جب کسی جامعہ کی درجنوں عمارتوں کو منہدم کرنے کے احکامات صادر کیے جاتے ہیں تو درحقیقت صرف دیواریں نہیں گرتیں، ہزاروں طلبہ کے خواب بھی لرز اٹھتے ہیں۔

رام پور کی محمد علی جوہر یونیورسٹی کے خلاف جاری کارروائی نے ایک بار پھر یہ سوال ہمارے سامنے لا کھڑا کیا ہے کہ کیا ریاستی طاقت کا استعمال انصاف کے لیے ہو رہا ہے یا انتقام کے لیے؟ اگر کسی ادارے میں قانونی یا انتظامی بے ضابطگیاں موجود ہیں تو ان کا حل قانون کے دائرے میں ضرور تلاش کیا جانا چاہیے، مگر ایسا کوئی فیصلہ جس کے نتیجے میں ہزاروں طلبہ کی تعلیم، ان کا مستقبل اور ان کے اہلِ خانہ کی امیدیں داؤ پر لگ جائیں، کسی بھی حساس اور ذمہ دار حکومت کے شایانِ شان نہیں۔

قرآنِ کریم علم کی عظمت کو یوں بیان کرتا ہے:

﴿قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴾
"کہہ دیجیے! کیا جاننے والے اور نہ جاننے والے برابر ہو سکتے ہیں؟”
(سورۃ الزمر: 9)

یہ آیت ہمیں یاد دلاتی ہے کہ علم کی حفاظت دراصل معاشرے کی حفاظت ہے۔ اسی طرح رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:

"طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ.”
"علم حاصل کرنا ہر مسلمان پر فرض ہے۔”
(سنن ابن ماجہ، حدیث: 224)

اگر کسی تعلیمی ادارے سے متعلق قانونی تنازع موجود ہے تو اس کا منصفانہ حل عدالتوں، مذاکرات اور اصلاحی اقدامات کے ذریعے نکالا جا سکتا ہے۔ مگر ایسی کارروائی جس سے تعلیم کا پورا نظام متاثر ہو، اس سے ریاست کی ساکھ بھی مجروح ہوتی ہے اور نوجوانوں کے دلوں میں عدمِ تحفظ جنم لیتا ہے۔

یہ حقیقت بھی نظرانداز نہیں کی جا سکتی کہ جب کسی ادارے سے وابستہ شخصیت سیاسی تنازعات کا مرکز بن جائے تو انصاف نہ صرف ہونا چاہیے بلکہ ہوتا ہوا دکھائی بھی دینا چاہیے۔ ریاستی اقدامات اس قدر شفاف، متوازن اور غیر جانبدار ہوں کہ کسی شہری کو سیاسی انتقام کا گمان بھی نہ ہو۔ یہی جمہوریت کا حسن اور آئین کی روح ہے۔

الف نیوز سمجھتا ہے کہ قانون کی بالادستی ناگزیر ہے، لیکن قانون کا نفاذ انسانوں کے مستقبل کو روند کر نہیں ہونا چاہیے۔ اگر خامیاں ہیں تو ان کی اصلاح کیجیے، اگر اجازت ناموں میں کمی ہے تو قانونی راستہ اختیار کیجیے، اگر انتظامی نقائص ہیں تو انہیں دور کیجیے؛ لیکن تعلیم کے چراغ بجھا دینا کسی بھی مسئلے کا پائیدار حل نہیں۔

تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ قومیں تعلیمی ادارے تعمیر کر کے ترقی کرتی ہیں، انہیں مسمار کر کے نہیں۔

آج ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ حکومت، عدلیہ، انتظامیہ اور یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ سب مل بیٹھ کر ایسا راستہ نکالیں جو قانون کی پاسداری بھی کرے اور ہزاروں طلبہ کے مستقبل کو بھی محفوظ رکھے۔ یہی انصاف ہے، یہی دانش مندی ہے اور یہی ایک مہذب ریاست کی پہچان بھی۔

Universities Must Be Protected, Not Reduced to Rubble

The true strength of a nation is measured not merely by its infrastructure or economy but by the institutions that nurture knowledge, character, and hope. Universities are far more than buildings of brick and concrete; they are sanctuaries where dreams are shaped and the future of generations is built.

The order to demolish 38 buildings of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University has therefore raised concerns that extend well beyond a legal dispute. Whatever the nature of the alleged violations, any action that places the education and future of thousands of students at risk demands the highest degree of restraint, fairness, and wisdom.

If legal or administrative irregularities exist, they should undoubtedly be addressed through due process. However, the enforcement of law should never lose sight of its larger purpose—protecting society and serving justice. When students become the unintended victims of institutional disputes, the very spirit of justice stands diminished.

The Holy Qur’an reminds us:

"Say: Are those who know equal to those who do not know?”
(Qur’an 39:9)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said:

"Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224)

These timeless teachings underscore that safeguarding education is among the noblest responsibilities of any society.

The controversy surrounding the university has also generated a perception among many that political considerations may be influencing administrative decisions. Whether such perceptions are justified or not, it is the responsibility of every democratic government to ensure that justice is not only done but is visibly seen to be done. Transparency, impartiality, and proportionality must guide every official action.

Alif News firmly believes that the rule of law and the protection of education must go hand in hand. Regulatory shortcomings, if proven, should be corrected through lawful remedies, compliance measures, and institutional reforms—not through actions that jeopardize the academic future of thousands of young people.

History teaches us that nations rise by building centres of learning, not by dismantling them.

The need of the hour is constructive dialogue among the government, the judiciary, the administration, and the university authorities to reach a lawful solution that preserves both justice and the aspirations of students. Protecting education is not merely an administrative duty—it is a moral obligation owed to every generation that dreams of a better tomorrow.
