سونم وانگچک کو اسپتال منتقل کیے جانے کے بعد احتجاج میں شدت، وزیرِ اعظم کے استعفے کا بھی مطالبہ

نئی دہلی، 18 جولائی: معروف ماحولیاتی کارکن اور ماہرِ تعلیم سونم وانگچک کو ان کی اکیسویں روزہ بھوک ہڑتال کے دوران ہفتہ کو دہلی پولیس نے صفدر جنگ اسپتال منتقل کر دیا، جس کے بعد احتجاجی تحریک نے ایک نیا رخ اختیار کر لیا ہے۔

احتجاج کی قیادت کرنے والی کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی (سی جے پی) کے بانی ابھیجیت ڈپکے نے اعلان کیا کہ اب تحریک صرف مرکزی وزیرِ تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفے تک محدود نہیں رہے گی بلکہ وزیرِ اعظم نریندر مودی کے استعفے کا مطالبہ بھی کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے خود بھی غیر معینہ مدت کی بھوک ہڑتال شروع کرنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

دہلی پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ سونم وانگچک کو دہلی ہائی کورٹ کی ہدایات اور طبی ماہرین کے مشورے کے مطابق ان کی بگڑتی ہوئی صحت کے پیشِ نظر اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا تاکہ انہیں ضروری طبی سہولت فراہم کی جا سکے۔ تاہم احتجاجی کارکنوں کا دعویٰ ہے کہ انہیں زبردستی احتجاجی مقام سے ہٹایا گیا۔

ادھر سونم وانگچک کی اہلیہ گیتانجلی انگمو نے الزام عائد کیا کہ خاندان کو پیشگی اطلاع دیے بغیر انہیں اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا اور طبی معائنے کی مکمل رپورٹ بھی فراہم نہیں کی گئی۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اگر سونم وانگچک خود شریک نہ ہو سکے تو بھی 20 جولائی کو پارلیمنٹ کی جانب مجوزہ مارچ اپنے مقررہ پروگرام کے مطابق منعقد ہوگا۔

اسی دوران جنتر منتر پر احتجاج جاری ہے، جہاں وانگچک کے ساتھ بھوک ہڑتال شروع کرنے والے چار دیگر کارکن بھی اپنے احتجاج پر قائم ہیں۔ ہفتہ کے روز احتجاجی اجتماع کے دوران ابھیجیت ڈپکے پر سیاہی پھینکے جانے کا واقعہ بھی پیش آیا، جس کے بعد پولیس نے متعلقہ خاتون کو حراست میں لے لیا۔

یہ معاملہ اب صرف ایک فرد کی بھوک ہڑتال تک محدود نہیں رہا بلکہ حکومت، پولیس کی کارروائی اور احتجاج کے جمہوری حق کے حوالے سے ایک وسیع قومی بحث کی صورت اختیار کرتا جا رہا ہے۔

Protests Escalate After Sonam Wangchuk Shifted to Hospital, PM’s Resignation Also Demanded

New Delhi, July 18: The protest movement surrounding environmentalist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk intensified on Saturday after Delhi Police shifted him to Safdarjung Hospital on the 21st day of his indefinite hunger strike.

Following the move, Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), announced that the movement would now expand its demands from seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to also calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dipke also declared the start of his own indefinite hunger strike.

Delhi Police stated that Wangchuk was moved in compliance with directions of the Delhi High Court and on the advice of medical experts due to concerns over his deteriorating health. Protest organizers, however, alleged that he was taken away from the protest site against his will.

Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, accused the authorities of shifting him without informing the family and questioned the medical assessment, saying they had not been shown the relevant reports. She said the planned march to Parliament on July 20 would proceed even if Wangchuk was unable to participate.

Meanwhile, four other protesters who began the hunger strike alongside Wangchuk continue their fast at Jantar Mantar, where hundreds of supporters remain gathered. The protest also witnessed a brief disruption after a woman allegedly threw ink at Abhijeet Dipke before being escorted away by police.

The developments have significantly broadened the political scope of the movement, turning it from a campaign centered on education-related demands into a wider debate over governance, policing, and democratic dissent.
