سونم وانگچک کی غیر معینہ بھوک ہڑتال انیسویں روز میں داخل، صحت مزید کمزور

تعلیمی نظام میں شفافیت اور نیٹ (NEET) امتحان میں مبینہ بے ضابطگیوں کے خلاف معروف ماہرِ تعلیم اور سماجی کارکن سونم وانگچک کی غیر معینہ بھوک ہڑتال جمعرات کو انیسویں روز میں داخل ہوگئی۔ انہوں نے ایک ویڈیو پیغام میں کہا کہ "میری حالت اچھی نہیں، لیکن اتنی خراب بھی نہیں کہ امید ختم ہو جائے۔”

طبی معائنے کے تازہ بلیٹن کے مطابق 59 سالہ وانگچک شدید کمزوری کا شکار ہیں اور چوبیس گھنٹے طبی نگرانی میں رکھے گئے ہیں۔ ان کا وزن مزید کم ہو کر 57.15 کلوگرام رہ گیا ہے، جو بھوک ہڑتال کے آغاز سے اب تک تقریباً 8.9 کلوگرام کم ہو چکا ہے۔

ڈاکٹروں کے مطابق ان کا بلڈ پریشر 105/76 ملی میٹر مرکری، خون میں شوگر کی مقدار 80 ملی گرام فی ڈیسی لیٹر اور آکسیجن کی سطح 97 فیصد ریکارڈ کی گئی۔ اگرچہ وہ ذہنی طور پر مکمل طور پر ہوش و حواس میں ہیں، تاہم مسلسل طبی نگرانی ناگزیر قرار دی گئی ہے۔

سونم وانگچک نئی دہلی کے جنتر منتر پر دھرنا دیتے ہوئے مرکزی وزیر تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفے اور نیٹ امتحان میں مبینہ بے ضابطگیوں کی شفاف تحقیقات کا مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں۔ ان کی صحت بگڑنے پر مختلف سماجی و سیاسی حلقوں نے تشویش کا اظہار کیا ہے اور حکومت سے معاملے کے فوری اور سنجیدہ حل کا مطالبہ کیا جا رہا ہے۔

خاموش جسم، بلند سوال

جمہوریت میں احتجاج صرف اختلاف کا اظہار نہیں بلکہ عوامی احساسات کو اقتدار تک پہنچانے کا ایک آئینی اور پُرامن ذریعہ بھی ہے۔ جب کوئی شخص اپنی جان کو داؤ پر لگا کر بھوک ہڑتال کا راستہ اختیار کرتا ہے تو اصل سوال صرف اس کی جسمانی حالت کا نہیں رہتا بلکہ اس نظام کا بھی ہوتا ہے جس نے اسے اس انتہائی مرحلے تک پہنچایا۔

سونم وانگچک کے مطالبات سے اتفاق یا اختلاف اپنی جگہ، لیکن ان کی مسلسل گرتی ہوئی صحت اس امر کی متقاضی ہے کہ حکومت، متعلقہ ادارے اور تمام فریق مکالمے کا راستہ اختیار کریں۔ تعلیم جیسے حساس شعبے میں عوامی اعتماد کی بحالی صرف بیانات سے نہیں بلکہ شفاف تحقیقات، جوابدہی اور انصاف سے ممکن ہے۔

جمہوری معاشروں کی طاقت یہی ہے کہ وہ اختلاف کو سنیں، تنقید کو برداشت کریں اور مسائل کا حل طاقت کے بجائے گفت و شنید کے ذریعے تلاش کریں۔ یہی طرزِ عمل ریاستی وقار اور عوامی اعتماد دونوں کو مضبوط بناتا ہے۔

Sonam Wangchuk Enters 19th Day of Indefinite Hunger Strike, Health Continues to Deteriorate

New Delhi:
Education reform campaigner and social activist Sonam Wangchuk entered the 19th day of his indefinite hunger strike on Thursday, protesting alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a video message, Wangchuk said, "I’m not in good shape, but not so bad either.”

According to the latest medical bulletin, the 59-year-old activist is experiencing severe weakness and remains under round-the-clock medical supervision. His weight has dropped to 57.15 kilograms, reflecting a loss of nearly 8.9 kilograms since the fast began.

Doctors reported his blood pressure at 105/76 mmHg, blood sugar at 80 mg/dL, and oxygen saturation at 97 percent. While he remains conscious and mentally alert, physicians have stressed the need for continuous medical monitoring.

Wangchuk continues his protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding an impartial investigation into the alleged NEET examination irregularities. His declining health has prompted growing concern from various social and political quarters, with renewed calls for dialogue and a constructive resolution.

A Silent Fast, A Loud Question

In a democracy, peaceful protest is not merely an expression of dissent; it is a constitutional means of drawing attention to public concerns. When an individual chooses an indefinite hunger strike, the focus extends beyond personal health to the responsiveness of the institutions being challenged.
