سری نگر: جموں و کشمیر کی حکمران جماعت نیشنل کانفرنس (این سی) نے الزام عائد کیا ہے کہ 20 جولائی کو نئی دہلی کے جنتر منتر پر ریاستی حیثیت (Statehood) کی بحالی کے مطالبے کے لیے ہونے والے احتجاج کو سبوتاژ کرنے کی کوشش کی جا رہی ہے۔ جماعت نے اس احتجاج میں شرکت کے لیے ملک کی 52 قومی و علاقائی سیاسی جماعتوں کو دعوت نامے ارسال کیے ہیں۔

وزیر اعلیٰ عمر عبداللہ نے کہا کہ احتجاج کے لیے سرکاری اجازت حاصل کرنے میں غیر معمولی تاخیر کی جا رہی ہے، جبکہ دیگر تنظیموں کو مختصر وقت میں اجازت مل گئی۔ ان کے مطابق بعض حلقے جان بوجھ کر اسی مقام پر متوازی پروگرام رکھ کر احتجاج کو متاثر کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔

یہ احتجاج 20 جولائی کو پارلیمنٹ کے مون سون اجلاس کے آغاز کے ساتھ منعقد کیا جائے گا تاکہ جموں و کشمیر کو دوبارہ مکمل ریاست کا درجہ دینے کے مطالبے کو قومی سطح پر اجاگر کیا جا سکے۔

نیشنل کانفرنس کے صدر فاروق عبداللہ نے کانگریس کی سونیا گاندھی، راہل گاندھی، ایم کے اسٹالن، ممتا بنرجی، اکھلیش یادو، لالو پرساد یادو، شرد پوار سمیت متعدد قومی رہنماؤں کو خطوط لکھ کر احتجاج میں شرکت اور حمایت کی اپیل کی ہے۔ جماعت نے بھارتیہ جنتا پارٹی (بی جے پی)، پیپلز ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی (پی ڈی پی)، مذہبی رہنماؤں، تاجر تنظیموں اور سول سوسائٹی کے نمائندوں کو بھی مدعو کیا ہے۔

این سی کے ترجمان طاہر سعید نے کہا کہ یہ کسی ایک جماعت کا احتجاج نہیں بلکہ جموں و کشمیر کے عوام کے آئینی حقوق، وقار اور جمہوری خواہشات کی بحالی کے لیے ایک مشترکہ عوامی تحریک کا آغاز ہے۔

ادھر میرواعظ عمر فاروق نے احتجاج کی حمایت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ریاستی حیثیت کے ساتھ ساتھ دفعہ 370، دفعہ 35 اے اور دیگر آئینی تحفظات کی بحالی کو بھی مطالبات میں شامل کیا جانا چاہیے۔ انہوں نے کشمیری سیاسی قیدیوں کی رہائی اور مسئلہ کشمیر کے پرامن سیاسی حل کا مطالبہ بھی دہرایا۔

دوسری جانب پیپلز ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی (پی ڈی پی) نے کہا ہے کہ وہ احتجاج میں شرکت کے بارے میں اندرونی مشاورت کے بعد فیصلہ کرے گی، جبکہ اپنی پارٹی نے اس معاملے پر نیشنل کانفرنس کی حکمت عملی پر تنقید کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پہلے تمام سیاسی قوتوں کو ایک مشترکہ لائحۂ عمل پر متفق ہونا چاہیے تھا۔

ادھر بی جے پی نے احتجاج میں شرکت سے انکار کرتے ہوئے الزام لگایا کہ نیشنل کانفرنس حکومت اپنی انتظامی ناکامیوں سے توجہ ہٹانے کے لیے اس احتجاج کا سہارا لے رہی ہے۔

National Conference Invites 52 Parties to July 20 Jantar Mantar Protest for Restoration of J&K Statehood

Srinagar: The National Conference (NC) has alleged that attempts are being made to disrupt its proposed July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, which aims to press for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The party has invited 52 national and regional political parties to participate in the demonstration.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the party has faced unexplained delays in obtaining official permission for the protest, while other organisations reportedly received approval much more quickly. He alleged that some political groups had deliberately scheduled overlapping programmes at the same venue to undermine the event.

The demonstration is scheduled to coincide with the opening day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session, with the objective of drawing national attention to the long-pending demand for restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.

NC president Farooq Abdullah has written to several senior opposition leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, M.K. Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Sharad Pawar, seeking their support. Invitations have also been extended to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), religious leaders, trade bodies, and civil society organisations.

Party spokesperson Tahir Saeed described the initiative as a broad democratic movement aimed at restoring the constitutional rights, dignity, and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir rather than serving narrow partisan interests.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq welcomed the campaign but said the demands should also include the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, other constitutional safeguards, the release of Kashmiri political prisoners, and a peaceful political resolution of the Kashmir issue.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said it would decide on participation after internal consultations, while the Apni Party criticised the NC’s approach, arguing that all stakeholders should first have been brought together to formulate a common strategy.

The BJP has declined to participate, accusing the National Conference government of using the protest to divert attention from issues such as unemployment, corruption, and governance.
