تمل ناڈو کی سیاست ایک بار پھر نئے موڑ پر کھڑی ہے۔ ایم ڈی ایم کے کے جنرل سیکریٹری Vaiko نے نہ صرف اپنی جماعت کی ٹی وی کے کے ساتھ وابستگی کا اعادہ کیا بلکہ یہ پیش گوئی بھی کی کہ Vijay ایک مدت تک نہیں بلکہ اس کے بعد بھی ریاست کی قیادت کرتے رہیں گے۔ اس بیان کی اہمیت اس لیے بڑھ جاتی ہے کہ چند ہی روز قبل ایم ڈی ایم کے نے Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam کے اتحاد سے علیحدگی اختیار کی تھی۔

سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا یہ فیصلہ اصولی اختلاف کا نتیجہ ہے یا بدلتے ہوئے سیاسی حالات میں بہتر امکانات کی تلاش؟

وائیکو کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ اتحاد میں رہتے ہوئے ڈی ایم کے حکومت پر تنقید نہیں کرسکتے تھے کیونکہ یہ سیاسی اخلاقیات کے خلاف ہوتا۔ اب اتحاد ختم ہونے کے بعد انہوں نے بدعنوانی اور کمیشن خوری جیسے الزامات سامنے رکھے ہیں۔ یہ مؤقف اپنی جگہ موجود ہے، لیکن عوام یہ سوال پوچھنے میں حق بجانب ہیں کہ اگر یہ مسائل پہلے بھی موجود تھے تو اس وقت خاموشی کیوں اختیار کی گئی؟

جمہوریت میں سیاسی جماعتوں کو اتحاد تبدیل کرنے کا حق حاصل ہے، مگر عوام اس تبدیلی کے پس منظر کو بھی جانچتے ہیں۔ اگر اتحاد صرف اقتدار کے امکانات کو دیکھ کر بدلے جائیں تو عوام کا سیاسی اعتماد کمزور ہوتا ہے۔ لیکن اگر جماعتیں واقعی نظریاتی بنیادوں پر فیصلے کریں تو وہ جمہوریت کو مضبوط بناتی ہیں۔

آنے والے اسمبلی انتخابات اس بحث کا حقیقی امتحان ہوں گے۔ اگر ایم ڈی ایم کے اپنے فیصلے کو عوامی مفاد، شفاف سیاست اور نظریاتی وابستگی سے ثابت کر دیتی ہے تو اس کا مؤقف مضبوط ہوگا۔ لیکن اگر یہ تبدیلی صرف انتخابی فائدے کے لیے محسوس ہوئی تو مخالفین کے اعتراضات مزید وزن اختیار کریں گے۔

الف نیوز کا ماننا ہے کہ سیاست میں اتحاد بدلنا غیر معمولی بات نہیں، مگر عوام کے اعتماد کو برقرار رکھنے کے لیے ہر فیصلے کی بنیاد شفافیت، اصول پسندی اور عوامی مفاد ہونی چاہیے۔ یہی جمہوری سیاست کا اصل معیار ہے۔

A Shift in Alliances or a Shift in Principles?

Tamil Nadu’s political landscape has entered another phase of realignment. MDMK General Secretary Vaiko has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to the alliance with TVK while expressing confidence that Vijay will remain Chief Minister beyond a single term. His remarks come shortly after the MDMK ended its alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

The central question is whether this move reflects a genuine ideological difference or a political calculation driven by changing electoral realities.

Vaiko argues that while his party was part of the alliance, publicly criticising the DMK would have violated political ethics. Now, after leaving the alliance, he has openly alleged corruption and widespread commission-based politics. While every political leader has the right to present such claims, voters are equally justified in asking why these concerns were not voiced earlier if they had existed all along.

In a democracy, parties have every right to form or dissolve alliances. However, public trust depends not merely on political choices but on the consistency and credibility of those choices. If alliances are reshaped only to maximise electoral advantage, public confidence inevitably weakens. If they are based on principle and policy, democracy benefits.

The upcoming Assembly election will ultimately determine how voters interpret this political shift. If the MDMK can demonstrate that its decision was rooted in public interest and ideological conviction, its stand will gain credibility. If not, critics will continue to view it as a move driven primarily by electoral strategy.

Alif News believes that changing political alliances is not unusual in a democracy. What truly matters is whether such decisions are guided by transparency, consistency, and the welfare of the people rather than by the pursuit of power alone.
