کیا پردھان استعفیٰ دیں گے؟ یا ہندوستانی جمہوریت ایک نئے موڑ پر کھڑی ہے؟

ہندوستان کی جمہوریت ان دنوں ایک عجیب اور تشویشناک دوراہے پر کھڑی نظر آتی ہے۔ ایک طرف دہلی کے جنتر منتر پر ہزاروں طلبہ، نوجوان اور ملازمت کے متلاشی افراد "کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی” کے بینر تلے جمع ہو کر وزیر تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفیٰ کا مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں، دوسری طرف راہل گاندھی اپنی سیاسی ریلیوں کے ذریعے حکومت کو گھیرنے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں۔ اسی دوران بی جے پی کا مبینہ "آپریشن لوٹس” ملک کی سیاسی بحث کا حصہ بنا ہوا ہے، جس کے تحت منتخب نمائندوں کے اپنی جماعتیں چھوڑ کر بی جے پی میں شامل ہونے کے الزامات لگائے جا رہے ہیں۔

مغربی بنگال سمیت مختلف علاقوں سے مساجد، مدارس اور رہائشی مکانات پر بلڈوزر کارروائیوں کی خبریں بھی سامنے آ رہی ہیں، جنہوں نے ملک کے ایک بڑے طبقے میں عدم تحفظ کے احساس کو مزید گہرا کر دیا ہے۔ ایسے میں سوال یہ پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ آخر ہندوستان کے عوام کہاں کھڑے ہیں؟

نیٹ (NEET) امتحان میں مبینہ بے ضابطگیوں اور پرچہ لیک کے الزامات نے لاکھوں طلبہ کے مستقبل کو غیر یقینی بنا دیا۔ وہ نوجوان جنہوں نے برسوں محنت کی، وہ آج سڑکوں پر انصاف مانگنے پر مجبور ہیں۔ اگر ایک امتحان کے نظام پر عوام کا اعتماد متزلزل ہو جائے تو صرف امتحان ہی نہیں، پورا تعلیمی ڈھانچہ سوالوں کے گھیرے میں آ جاتا ہے۔

یہ احتجاج محض ایک امتحان یا ایک وزیر کے استعفیٰ کا مسئلہ نہیں رہا۔ یہ دراصل اس بے چینی کا اظہار ہے جو ملک کے نوجوانوں، طلبہ، کسانوں اور عام شہریوں کے دلوں میں جمع ہوتی جا رہی ہے۔ کسان قرض اور منڈی کے مسائل سے پریشان ہیں، نوجوان بے روزگاری کے بوجھ تلے دبے ہوئے ہیں، جبکہ عام آدمی بڑھتی ہوئی معاشی مشکلات اور سماجی تقسیم کے درمیان خود کو تنہا محسوس کر رہا ہے۔

جمہوریت کی اصل طاقت عوام کا اعتماد ہوتی ہے۔ جب نوجوان اپنے مستقبل سے مایوس ہوں، کسان اپنے حال سے پریشان ہوں اور اقلیتیں اپنے تحفظ کے بارے میں سوال اٹھانے لگیں تو صرف سیاسی فتوحات یا انتخابی کامیابیاں کسی ملک کی کامیابی کی ضمانت نہیں بن سکتیں۔

دھرمیندر پردھان استعفیٰ دیں گے یا نہیں، اس کا فیصلہ سیاسی قیادت کرے گی۔ لیکن اصل سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا حکومت عوام کے ان سوالات کا جواب دے گی جو سڑکوں، یونیورسٹیوں، کھیتوں اور بستیوں سے اٹھ رہے ہیں؟

آج ہندوستان کو الزام اور جوابی الزام کی سیاست سے زیادہ احتساب، شفافیت، انصاف اور عوامی اعتماد کی ضرورت ہے۔ اگر نوجوانوں کے خواب ٹوٹتے رہے، کسانوں کی آواز دبی رہی اور سماجی ہم آہنگی کمزور ہوتی گئی تو یہ صرف کسی ایک جماعت یا حکومت کا نقصان نہیں ہوگا بلکہ پورے جمہوری ہندوستان کا خسارہ ہوگا۔

آخر ہمارے بھارت کی یہ کیا حالت ہو گئی ہے کہ دنیا کی سب سے بڑی جمہوریت میں عوام اپنی ہی آواز سنانے کے لیے سڑکوں پر بیٹھنے پر مجبور ہیں؟

Will Dharmendra Pradhan Resign, or Is Indian Democracy Facing a Deeper Crisis?

India’s democracy appears to be standing at a difficult crossroads. On one side, thousands of students, young professionals, and job seekers have gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi under the banner of the "Cockroach Janata Party,” demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On the other, Rahul Gandhi continues to mobilize political opposition through public rallies and campaigns.

At the same time, allegations surrounding the BJP’s "Operation Lotus” continue to dominate political discourse, with critics accusing the ruling party of encouraging elected representatives to abandon their parties and join the BJP. Reports of bulldozer actions against mosques, madrassas, and residential properties in different regions, including parts of West Bengal, have further intensified concerns among many citizens regarding justice, equality, and constitutional protections.

The controversy surrounding the NEET examination and allegations of paper leaks have shaken public confidence in one of India’s most important educational institutions. Millions of students who spent years preparing for the examination now find themselves questioning the credibility of the system itself.

This movement is no longer merely about one examination or one minister. It reflects a broader frustration among students, unemployed youth, farmers, and ordinary citizens who increasingly feel unheard. Farmers continue to struggle with economic uncertainty, young people face limited employment opportunities, and many citizens are concerned about rising social polarization.

The strength of any democracy lies not only in electoral victories but also in public trust. When students lose faith in educational institutions, farmers feel neglected, and communities question their security and dignity, deeper questions emerge about governance and accountability.

Whether Dharmendra Pradhan resigns is ultimately a political decision. The more important question is whether the government will respond to the concerns being raised across campuses, villages, towns, and city streets.

India today needs transparency, accountability, fairness, and social harmony more than political confrontation. If the aspirations of young people continue to be frustrated and public trust continues to erode, the consequences will extend far beyond any single government or political party.

How did we arrive at a point where citizens in the world’s largest democracy increasingly feel compelled to take to the streets simply to have their voices heard?
