زمین کی خوشبو اور احتجاج کی ہل — پلوامہ کے کسانوں کے ساتھ کھیتوں میں اترے سیاسی رہنما

جنوبی کشمیر کے ضلع پلوامہ میں زرعی زمینوں کے سرکاری قبضے کے خلاف ایک منفرد احتجاج دیکھنے میں آیا، جہاں پیپلز ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی (PDP) کے رہنماؤں نے کسانوں کے ساتھ کھیتوں میں اتر کر دھان کے کھیت جوتے اور شجرکاری میں حصہ لیا۔

مقامی کسانوں کے مطابق انتظامیہ نے ہزاروں کنال زرعی اراضی پر کاشتکاری سے روکنے کے لیے انتباہ جاری کیا ہے۔ کسانوں کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ زمینیں کئی دہائیوں سے ان کی روزی روٹی کا ذریعہ رہی ہیں اور ان ہی کھیتوں سے ان کے گھروں کے چولہے جلتے ہیں اور مویشیوں کے لیے چارہ فراہم ہوتا ہے۔

پڈگام پورہ کے کسان شبیر احمد نے بتایا کہ گاؤں کے متعدد خاندان تین سے چار کنال زمین کے چھوٹے چھوٹے قطعات پر دھان کاشت کرتے ہیں۔ ان کے مطابق اگر یہ زمینیں کسانوں سے لے لی گئیں تو مقامی آبادی کی معاشی زندگی شدید متاثر ہوگی۔

کسانوں کے ساتھ اظہارِ یکجہتی کے لیے مقامی رکنِ اسمبلی Waheed ur Rehman Parra خود کھیت میں اترے اور دھان کی پنیری لگا کر احتجاج ریکارڈ کرایا۔ انہوں نے اسے مقامی کسانوں کی زمینوں کے تحفظ اور ان کے حقوق کے دفاع کی علامتی جدوجہد قرار دیا۔

پی ڈی پی رہنما Iltija Mufti نے الزام عائد کیا کہ انتظامیہ پلوامہ کے مختلف علاقوں میں زرخیز زرعی زمین غریب کسان خاندانوں سے چھیننے کی کوشش کر رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ کسانوں کے جمہوری احتجاج کو قانون و انتظامیہ کے دباؤ سے نہ روکا جائے۔

اس احتجاج کے بعد نیشنل کانفرنس کے سینئر رہنما Mukhtar Ahmad Bandh نے بھی کھیتوں میں جا کر کسانوں کے ساتھ اظہارِ یکجہتی کیا اور زمینوں کے تحفظ کے مطالبے کی حمایت کی۔

پلوامہ کے سرسبز کھیتوں میں ہونے والا یہ احتجاج اب صرف زمین کا مسئلہ نہیں رہا بلکہ روزگار، شناخت اور کسانوں کے مستقبل سے جڑا ایک اہم عوامی سوال بن چکا ہے۔

Ploughing in Protest: Political Leaders Join Farmers in Pulwama’s Fields

In an unusual and symbolic protest in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) joined local farmers in ploughing paddy fields to oppose the administration’s reported move to take over large tracts of agricultural land.

Farmers claim that local authorities have warned villagers against cultivating thousands of kanals of farmland that have sustained generations of rural families. According to residents, these fields are not merely pieces of land but the foundation of their livelihood, food security, and cattle-rearing economy.

Shabir Ahmad, a farmer from Padgampora, said many families depend on small parcels of land for rice cultivation and fodder production. He warned that the loss of these fields would have serious economic consequences for local communities.

To demonstrate solidarity with the farmers, legislator Waheed ur Rehman Parra entered the paddy fields and planted rice seedlings, describing the act as a symbolic resistance against what he called attempts to displace local cultivators.

PDP leader Iltija Mufti alleged that fertile agricultural land was being taken away from families that had cultivated it for generations. She urged authorities not to use legal or administrative measures against citizens protesting for their land rights.

Following the PDP demonstration, senior National Conference leader Mukhtar Ahmad Bandh also joined the farmers in the fields as a mark of support.

What began as a protest over land has now evolved into a broader debate about livelihood, rural rights, and the future of farming communities in Kashmir. The green paddy fields of Pulwama have become a powerful symbol of the struggle between development policies and the concerns of those whose lives remain rooted in the soil.
