جنتر منتر کی دوپہر، نوجوانوں کی آواز اور پانچ دن کی مہلت

دہلی کے تاریخی جنتر منتر نے ہفتہ کے روز ایک منفرد منظر دیکھا، جہاں ہزاروں طلبہ، مسابقتی امتحانات کے امیدوار، والدین اور نوجوان شہری "کوکروچ جنتا پارٹی” (CJP) کی اپیل پر جمع ہوئے۔ ان کا مطالبہ تھا کہ امتحانی اور تقرری نظام میں مبینہ بے ضابطگیوں کی اخلاقی ذمہ داری قبول کرتے ہوئے مرکزی وزیر تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان استعفیٰ دیں۔

اس احتجاج کی سب سے نمایاں بات یہ رہی کہ حکومت نے نہ صرف اجتماع کی اجازت دی بلکہ مظاہرین کو بھرپور سیکورٹی بھی فراہم کی۔ ملک کے حالیہ سیاسی ماحول میں یہ منظر بہت سے مبصرین کے لیے حیرت کا باعث بنا۔

جلتی ہوئی دوپہر اور شدید گرمی کے باوجود ہزاروں نوجوان جنتر منتر پہنچے۔ اگرچہ شرکاء کی تعداد بعض حلقوں کی توقعات سے کم رہی، تاہم یہ حقیقت اپنی جگہ اہم ہے کہ اتنی سخت گرمی میں ہزاروں افراد کا پرامن طور پر جمع ہونا خود ایک قابلِ ذکر واقعہ تھا۔

احتجاج کے دوران تحریک کے بانی ابھیجیت دپکے نے حکومت پر تنقید کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ نوجوانوں کے بنیادی سوالات کا جواب دینے کے بجائے ان کی تحریک کو سوشل میڈیا کے تناظر میں دیکھا جا رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے امتحانی نظام میں شفافیت، جوابدہی اور اصلاحات کا مطالبہ دہرایا۔

شام تقریباً چار بجے شدید گرمی کے باعث ابھیجیت دپکے کی طبیعت ناساز ہوئی، جس کے بعد انہیں احتیاطی طور پر جنتر منتر سے باہر منتقل کر دیا گیا۔ تاہم احتجاجی پروگرام پرامن انداز میں جاری رہا۔

اپنے خطاب میں ابھیجیت دپکے نے ایک اور اہم نکتہ بھی اٹھایا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت میں ہندوؤں اور مسلمانوں کے درمیان نفرت کی سیاست کو فروغ دیا جا رہا ہے، جسے بند ہونا چاہیے۔ ان کے مطابق نوجوانوں کا اصل ایجنڈا روزگار، تعلیم، انصاف اور بہتر مستقبل ہونا چاہیے، نہ کہ مذہبی تقسیم۔

اس موقع پر لداخ سے معروف سماجی کارکن سونم وانگچک بھی احتجاج میں شریک ہوئے۔ انہوں نے نوجوانوں کو مبارکباد دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ جمہوری اور پرامن انداز میں اپنی آواز بلند کرنا ایک مثبت قدم ہے۔ انہوں نے ابھیجیت دپکے کو بھی اس کامیاب اور منظم احتجاج پر مبارکباد پیش کی۔

دہلی پولیس کے مطابق دو مختلف گروہوں کے درمیان ممکنہ کشیدگی کو روکنے کے لیے چھ افراد کو احتیاطی طور پر حراست میں لیا گیا، تاہم مجموعی طور پر احتجاج پرامن رہا اور کسی بڑے ناخوشگوار واقعے کی اطلاع نہیں ملی۔

شام پانچ بجے تک نہ تو مرکزی وزیر تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کی جانب سے استعفیٰ سامنے آیا اور نہ ہی حکومت کی طرف سے کوئی باضابطہ اعلان کیا گیا۔ اس کے بعد کوکروچ جنتا پارٹی نے وزیر تعلیم کو پانچ دن کی مہلت دیتے ہوئے اعلان کیا کہ اگر مقررہ مدت میں استعفیٰ پیش نہ کیا گیا تو احتجاجی تحریک کو ملک گیر سطح تک وسعت دی جائے گی۔

دوسری جانب کانگریس نے بھی سی بی ایس ای کے آن اسکرین مارکنگ (OSM) تنازعے کے تناظر میں دھرمیندر پردھان پر تنقید کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ ان کا وزارت میں برقرار رہنا لاکھوں طلبہ اور ان کے اہلِ خانہ کی توہین کے مترادف ہے۔

یہ احتجاج اپنے سیاسی نتائج سے قطع نظر اس حقیقت کی یاد دہانی ضرور کراتا ہے کہ ہندوستان کا نوجوان طبقہ اب تعلیم، امتحانات اور روزگار کے سوالات کو قومی مباحثے کے مرکز میں لانے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے۔ جمہوریت کی اصل روح بھی یہی ہے کہ اختلاف کی آواز سنی جائے اور مسائل کا جواب مکالمے اور اصلاح کے ذریعے دیا جائے، نہ کہ خاموشی کے ذریعے۔

The Jantar Mantar Gathering: Youth Voices and a Five-Day Ultimatum

Jantar Mantar witnessed an unusual and significant gathering on Saturday as thousands of students, job aspirants, parents and young citizens assembled under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demanding accountability in India’s education and examination system.

The protesters called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging persistent irregularities in examinations and recruitment processes.

One of the most notable aspects of the demonstration was that the authorities not only permitted the protest but also provided extensive security arrangements, a fact that drew attention in the current political climate.

Despite the scorching summer heat, thousands of young people participated in the event. While the turnout may not have matched the highest expectations of organizers, the presence of thousands under a blazing afternoon sun was widely viewed as a meaningful show of public concern.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke criticized the government for focusing on the movement’s social media presence rather than addressing the substantive issues being raised by students and job seekers. He reiterated demands for transparency, accountability and reform in the education system.

Around 4 p.m., Dipke reportedly experienced health discomfort, possibly due to the intense heat, and was escorted away from the venue as a precaution. The demonstration, however, continued peacefully.

In his address, Dipke also spoke against what he described as growing politics of hatred between Hindus and Muslims in India. He argued that the country’s youth should be united around issues such as education, employment and justice rather than religious divisions.

Prominent social activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the gathering from Ladakh and congratulated the young participants for choosing a democratic and peaceful path. He also praised Abhijeet Dipke for leading what he described as a constructive public movement.

According to Delhi Police, six individuals were detained as a preventive measure to avoid possible confrontation between different groups. Officials stated that the protest concluded peacefully without major incidents.

By 5 p.m., neither the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan nor any formal response from the government had been announced. Consequently, the Cockroach Janta Party issued a five-day ultimatum, stating that if no resignation is forthcoming, the agitation would be expanded into a nationwide movement.

Meanwhile, the Congress party intensified its criticism of the Education Minister over the CBSE on-screen marking controversy, arguing that his continuation in office reflects administrative failure and undermines public confidence in the education system.

Regardless of its immediate political outcome, the protest highlighted a growing sentiment among India’s youth: concerns about education, examinations and employment are increasingly becoming central public issues. In a democracy, such voices serve as a reminder that accountability and reform remain essential to public trust.
