تعلیم محض امتحان اور نمبروں کا نام نہیں، بلکہ یہ ایک قوم کے مستقبل پر عوام کے اعتماد کی بنیاد ہوتی ہے۔ جب ایک طالبِ علم برسوں کی محنت کے بعد امتحانی پرچہ جمع کرتا ہے تو وہ صرف جواب نہیں لکھتا، بلکہ اپنے خواب، امیدیں اور مستقبل اس کاغذ کے سپرد کر دیتا ہے۔ ایسے میں اگر انہی جوابی کاپیوں کے تبادلے، غلط جانچ، دھندلی اسکیننگ اور نمبروں کی غلط تقسیم کی خبریں سامنے آئیں تو مسئلہ صرف ایک تکنیکی خرابی کا نہیں رہتا، بلکہ پورے نظامِ اعتماد پر سوالیہ نشان بن جاتا ہے۔

سی بی ایس ای کے آن اسکرین مارکنگ سسٹم کے گرد پیدا ہونے والا تنازعہ اسی تشویش کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ ڈیجیٹل نظام متعارف کرانے کا مقصد شفافیت، رفتار اور درستگی تھا، مگر اگر جدید ٹیکنالوجی طلبہ کے لیے الجھن، بے یقینی اور ذہنی دباؤ کا سبب بن جائے تو پھر اس کی افادیت پر ازسرِ نو غور کرنا ضروری ہو جاتا ہے۔

حکومت کی جانب سے اعلیٰ عہدیداروں کے تبادلے اور تحقیقات کے لیے کمیٹی کی تشکیل ایک اہم قدم ہے، لیکن اصل سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا ہم اس واقعے کو محض انتظامی کوتاہی سمجھ کر آگے بڑھ جائیں گے یا اسے تعلیمی نظام میں جوابدہی اور شفافیت کے ایک نئے باب کا آغاز بنائیں گے؟

ہر سال لاکھوں طلبہ امتحانات میں شریک ہوتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے بہت سے ایسے گھرانوں سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں جہاں تعلیم ہی بہتر مستقبل کی واحد امید ہوتی ہے۔ کسی ایک طالبِ علم کی کاپی کا غلط شخص کے نام سے اپ لوڈ ہونا محض ایک تکنیکی خامی نہیں، بلکہ ایک نوجوان کے خوابوں پر پڑنے والا سایہ ہے۔

تعلیم کے شعبے میں اعتماد ایک بار مجروح ہو جائے تو اس کی بحالی آسان نہیں ہوتی۔ اسی لیے ضروری ہے کہ تحقیقات مکمل شفافیت کے ساتھ ہوں، ذمہ داری کا تعین کیا جائے، اور مستقبل میں ایسے واقعات کی روک تھام کے لیے مضبوط حفاظتی نظام قائم کیا جائے۔ جدید ٹیکنالوجی انسان کی معاون ہونی چاہیے، اس کی پریشانی کا سبب نہیں۔

یہ واقعہ ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ امتحانی کاپیاں صرف کاغذ نہیں ہوتیں؛ ان میں ایک نسل کی محنت، والدین کی دعائیں اور مستقبل کی امیدیں محفوظ ہوتی ہیں۔ ان امیدوں کی حفاظت کسی بھی تعلیمی ادارے کی سب سے بڑی ذمہ داری ہے۔

When Trust Turns Blurry

Education is not merely a system of examinations and grades; it is a covenant of trust between institutions and the young minds whose futures depend upon them. Every answer sheet submitted by a student carries more than written responses—it carries years of effort, aspirations, sacrifices, and dreams.

The controversy surrounding the CBSE’s On-Screen Marking System is therefore more than a technical malfunction. Reports of answer-sheet mismatches, evaluation errors, blurred scans, and grade allocation problems strike at the very heart of public confidence in the examination process. When students cannot be certain that their work is being assessed accurately, the credibility of the entire system comes into question.

Technology was introduced to make evaluation faster, more transparent, and more efficient. Yet technology is only as trustworthy as the safeguards surrounding it. Digital transformation cannot succeed if students are left confused, distressed, or doubtful about the fairness of the process.

The government’s decision to transfer senior officials and establish an inquiry committee is a significant response. However, accountability should not end with administrative action. The deeper challenge is to ensure that this episode becomes an opportunity for reform rather than merely a moment of damage control.

Millions of students appear for board examinations every year. For many families, education represents the most reliable path toward social mobility and a better future. A misplaced answer sheet is not simply a clerical error; it is a disruption in the life of a young person who has invested hope and effort in the system.

Trust, once weakened, is difficult to restore. That is why the investigation must be transparent, responsibilities must be clearly identified, and robust safeguards must be established to prevent similar failures in the future. Technology should serve students, not burden them with uncertainty.

This episode serves as a reminder that answer sheets are not just documents. They are repositories of ambition, perseverance, and possibility. Protecting them means protecting the faith of an entire generation in the promise of education itself.
