لکھنؤ کی مسجد پر نیا تنازع — تاریخ کے زخم پھر ہرے ہونے لگے

اتر پردیش کے شہر لکھنؤ میں واقع قصبہ کسمندی کی ایک قدیم مسجد کو لے کر نیا تنازع کھڑا ہو گیا ہے۔ بعض افراد اور تنظیموں کی جانب سے دعویٰ کیا جا رہا ہے کہ یہ مقام کبھی ایک مندر تھا، اور اسی بنیاد پر اس مسجد کی تاریخی حیثیت کو چیلنج کیا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ معاملہ ایسے وقت سامنے آیا ہے جب ملک پہلے ہی بھوج شالا اور دیگر مذہبی مقامات کے تنازعات سے ذہنی اور سماجی بے چینی کا شکار ہے۔

یہ سوال اب صرف ایک عمارت یا زمین کا نہیں رہا، بلکہ ہندوستان کے اُس آئینی اور اخلاقی وعدے کا ہے جس میں تمام مذاہب کے ماننے والوں کو مساوی احترام اور تحفظ دینے کی یقین دہانی کرائی گئی تھی۔ بابری مسجد کی شہادت کے بعد ملک کے اعلیٰ ترین حلقوں کی جانب سے یہ اعتماد دلایا گیا تھا کہ آئندہ کسی اور عبادت گاہ کو تنازع کا موضوع نہیں بنایا جائے گا، تاکہ ملک میں امن، ہم آہنگی اور مذہبی اعتماد برقرار رہ سکے۔

مگر اب بار بار قدیم عبادت گاہوں کے بارے میں نئے دعوے اٹھانا بہت سے شہریوں کے دلوں میں خوف، بے یقینی اور محرومی کے احساسات پیدا کر رہا ہے۔ آخر کسی برادری سے اس کی عبادت گاہ چھین لینا کون سا انصاف ہے؟ اگر ہر مذہبی مقام کو صدیوں پیچھے جا کر نئے مقدمات اور دعووں کی بنیاد پر پرکھا جائے، تو کیا اس سے معاشرے میں سکون پیدا ہوگا یا نفرت اور تقسیم مزید بڑھے گی؟

عدالتیں یقیناً قانون اور ثبوت کی بنیاد پر فیصلے کرتی ہیں، لیکن ایسے حساس معاملات میں انصاف کے ساتھ ساتھ سماجی ہم آہنگی، قومی یکجہتی اور آئینی روح کو بھی ملحوظ رکھنا ضروری ہے۔ ہندوستان کی خوبصورتی اس کی کثرت میں وحدت، مختلف عقائد کے احترام، اور مشترکہ تہذیب میں پوشیدہ ہے۔ اگر عبادت گاہیں تنازعات کی علامت بن جائیں، تو یہ صرف ایک مذہب نہیں بلکہ پورے سماج کے امن کے لیے خطرہ بن سکتا ہے۔

Fresh Mosque Dispute in Lucknow Rekindles Old Wounds of History

A new controversy has emerged in Kasmandi, a locality in Lucknow, where claims are being raised that an old mosque once stood on the site of a temple. The issue comes at a time when the country is already witnessing growing tensions around historical places of worship, including the recent Bhojshala dispute.

This is no longer merely a question of land or architecture; it touches the deeper constitutional and moral promise of India — the assurance that every religious community would enjoy equal dignity, protection, and freedom of worship. After the demolition of the Babri Masjid, assurances were repeatedly given that no other mosque or place of worship would be subjected to similar disputes, so that communal harmony and public trust could survive.

Yet, repeated attempts to reopen centuries-old religious questions are creating fear, insecurity, and emotional alienation among many citizens. What kind of justice is it to take away a community’s place of worship? If every sacred site is dragged into historical litigation and competing claims, will it strengthen peace — or deepen division and hostility?

Courts undoubtedly function according to law and evidence, but in matters so deeply tied to faith and social stability, the spirit of constitutional harmony and national unity also carries immense importance. India’s strength has always rested in its pluralism, shared heritage, and mutual respect among different faiths. When places of worship become symbols of conflict rather than spirituality, the entire social fabric risks being wounded.
