کیرالہ میں کانگریس کے نئے دور کا آغاز

انڈین نیشنل کانگریس  نے کئی دنوں کی قیاس آرائیوں اور اندرونی مشاورت کے بعد V. D. Satheesan کو Kerala کا نیا وزیر اعلیٰ منتخب کرلیا ہے۔ اس اعلان کے ساتھ ہی کانگریس کے اندر جاری قیادت کی کشمکش کا خاتمہ ہوگیا۔

کانگریس کی زیر قیادت یو ڈی ایف اتحاد نے اسمبلی انتخابات میں 140 میں سے 102 نشستیں حاصل کرکے دو تہائی اکثریت حاصل کی تھی، مگر وزارتِ اعلیٰ کے انتخاب پر پارٹی کے مختلف دھڑوں میں شدید لابنگ جاری تھی۔ وزیر اعلیٰ کے عہدے کے لئے بنیادی طور پر K. C. Venugopal، V. D. Satheesan اور Ramesh Chennithala کے نام زیر غور تھے۔

پارٹی ذرائع کے مطابق سابق کانگریس صدر Rahul Gandhi اور کانگریس صدر Mallikarjun Kharge کے درمیان طویل مشاورت کے بعد حتمی فیصلہ کیا گیا۔

وزیر اعلیٰ نامزد ہونے کے بعد وی ڈی ستیسن نے کہا کہ “کیرالہ میں ایک نئے دور کا آغاز ہوگا”۔ انہوں نے ریاست کی کمزور مالی صورتحال کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ متحدہ ٹیم ورک کے ذریعے “نیا کیرالہ” تعمیر کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کے سی وینوگوپال اور دیگر سینئر رہنماؤں کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ کسی ایک شخص کی کامیابی نہیں بلکہ اجتماعی ذمہ داری ہے۔

دوسری جانب Bharatiya Janata Party نے وزیر اعلیٰ کے انتخاب میں تاخیر کو لے کر کانگریس کو نشانہ بنایا اور کہا کہ مکمل اکثریت حاصل کرنے کے باوجود پارٹی بروقت قیادت کا فیصلہ نہیں کرسکی۔

کیرالہ بھر میں وی ڈی ستیسن کے حامیوں نے جشن منایا، مٹھائیاں تقسیم کیں اور آتش بازی کی۔ سیاسی مبصرین کے مطابق اب اصل چیلنج انتخابی وعدوں کی تکمیل، مالی بحران سے نمٹنے اور مختلف اتحادی جماعتوں کے درمیان توازن قائم رکھنے کا ہوگا۔

“VD Satheesan Crowned — Congress Begins a New Chapter in Kerala”

The Indian National Congress has finally ended days of suspense by naming V. D. Satheesan as the next Chief Minister of Kerala following extensive consultations within the party leadership.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) secured a commanding victory in the Assembly elections, winning 102 out of 140 seats. However, the decision regarding the chief ministerial face had been delayed due to intense lobbying and competing factions within the party. The leading contenders included K. C. Venugopal, V. D. Satheesan, and Ramesh Chennithala.

Party sources indicated that the final decision emerged after detailed discussions between former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

After being chosen as Chief Minister-designate, VD Satheesan declared that “a new era” would begin in Kerala. Acknowledging the state’s fragile financial condition, he promised collective leadership and teamwork to build what he described as a “new Kerala.” He also thanked KC Venugopal and other senior leaders, stressing that the responsibility belonged to the entire party and not to any single individual.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party criticised the Congress for taking several days to finalise its leader despite securing a decisive electoral mandate.

Celebrations erupted across Kerala after the announcement, with supporters distributing sweets and bursting firecrackers. Political observers believe the new government’s immediate challenges will include managing Kerala’s financial pressures, balancing coalition expectations, and fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign.
