Leema Rose Martin تمل ناڈو کی اُن شخصیات میں شامل ہوگئی ہیں جنہوں نے 2026 کے اسمبلی انتخابات میں غیر معمولی توجہ حاصل کی۔ وہ لالگوڈی اسمبلی حلقے سے AIADMK کی رکنِ اسمبلی منتخب ہوئی ہیں اور اس انتخاب میں ریاست کی “امیر ترین امیدوار” کے طور پر بھی موضوعِ بحث رہیں۔
لیما روز مارٹن معروف لاٹری کاروباری شخصیت Santiago Martin کی اہلیہ ہیں۔ انتخابی حلف نامے کے مطابق ان کے اثاثوں کی مالیت تقریباً 1049 کروڑ روپے بتائی گئی، جس نے پورے تمل ناڈو کی سیاست میں ایک نئی بحث چھیڑ دی کہ آیا دولت عوامی سیاست کے مزاج کو بدل سکتی ہے۔
وہ بنیادی طور پر کوئمبتور سے تعلق رکھتی ہیں، تاہم AIADMK نے انہیں تروچی ضلع کے اہم حلقہ لالگوڈی سے میدان میں اتارا۔ یہ حلقہ طویل عرصے تک DMK کا مضبوط قلعہ سمجھا جاتا تھا، مگر لیما روز نے سخت مقابلے کے بعد کامیابی حاصل کرکے سیاسی مبصرین کو حیران کردیا۔
ان کی سیاسی شناخت صرف دولت تک محدود نہیں رہی۔ انتخابی مہم کے دوران انہوں نے خواتین، دیہی عوام، تعلیم اور فلاحی منصوبوں پر زور دیا۔ رپورٹس کے مطابق انہوں نے غریب طلبہ کی تعلیم میں ذاتی تعاون کا وعدہ بھی کیا، جسے دیہی خواتین میں مثبت انداز میں دیکھا گیا۔
لیما روز کا ایک اور دلچسپ سیاسی ربط TVK حکومت سے بھی جڑتا ہے۔ وہ TVK کے سینئر رہنما اور موجودہ وزیر Aadhav Arjuna کی ساس ہیں، جس کے باعث ان کا خاندان تمل ناڈو کی نئی سیاسی بساط میں ایک اہم کردار ادا کرتا دکھائی دے رہا ہے۔
اگرچہ ان پر اور ان کے خاندان پر ماضی میں Enforcement Directorate (ED) تحقیقات اور “لاٹری کنگ” خاندان سے تعلق کے باعث تنقید بھی ہوتی رہی، تاہم انتخابی نتائج نے یہ ثابت کیا کہ عوامی سیاست میں شخصیت، دولت، مقامی اتحاد اور انتخابی حکمتِ عملی — سب ایک ساتھ اثر انداز ہوتے ہیں۔

Leema Rose Martin has emerged as one of the most closely watched political figures in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 Assembly elections. Elected from the Lalgudi constituency as an AIADMK legislator, she also drew statewide attention for being the richest candidate in the election.
Leema Rose Martin is the wife of prominent lottery businessman Santiago Martin. According to her election affidavit, she declared assets worth nearly ₹1,049 crore, making her the wealthiest contestant in the Tamil Nadu polls.
Originally from Coimbatore, she was fielded by AIADMK from the politically significant Lalgudi constituency in Tiruchirappalli district — a seat long considered a DMK stronghold. Her victory in the constituency was viewed as one of the notable upsets of the election season.
During her campaign, Leema Rose focused heavily on welfare themes, especially women’s outreach, rural development, and educational support. Reports suggest that her promises to financially assist poor students gained positive attention among women voters and village communities.
Her political relevance also extends into the new power structure of Tamil Nadu. She is the mother-in-law of Aadhav Arjuna, a senior TVK leader and one of the Ministers sworn into the Vijay-led government, placing her family at the intersection of multiple political camps.
Although controversies linked to Enforcement Directorate investigations and the “lottery king” label have followed the family for years, her electoral success demonstrated that modern Tamil Nadu politics is increasingly shaped by influence, visibility, financial strength, and strategic alliances.
