تمل ناڈو کی سیاست ایک غیر معمولی موڑ پر کھڑی ہے جہاں عوامی مینڈیٹ، آئینی تقاضے اور سیاسی جوڑ توڑ ایک پیچیدہ منظرنامہ تشکیل دے رہے ہیں۔ فلمی دنیا سے سیاست میں آنے والے Vijay کی جماعت “تملگا ویتری کڑگم” نے تاریخی کامیابی حاصل کرتے ہوئے 234 رکنی اسمبلی میں 108 نشستیں جیت کر ریاست کی باسٹھ سالہ دراوڑی سیاسی اجارہ داری کو چیلنج کر دیا، مگر اقتدار کا دروازہ ابھی تک ان کے لئے پوری طرح نہیں کھل سکا۔
گورنر . . Vishwanath Arlekar نے واضح کیا ہے کہ حکومت سازی کے لئے 118 اراکین کی تحریری حمایت ناگزیر ہے، اور یہی شرط اس وقت سیاسی بحران کی اصل بنیاد بن گئی ہے۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق ٹی وی کے مسلسل مذاکرات کے باوجود مطلوبہ اکثریت حاصل نہیں ہو سکی، جبکہ انڈین یونین مسلم لیگ اور اے ایم ایم کے بعض حلقوں نے حمایت سے انکار کر دیا ہے۔ اس صورت حال کے باعث وزیراعلیٰ کی حلف برداری ایک بار پھر غیر یقینی کا شکار ہو گئی ہے۔
سیاسی راہداریوں میں یہ بحث بھی شدت اختیار کر گئی ہے کہ آیا تمل ناڈو ایک مخلوط دورِ حکومت کی طرف بڑھ رہا ہے یا پھر ریاست ایک نئے سیاسی تعطل میں داخل ہو رہی ہے۔ بائیں بازو کی جماعتوں نے بیرونی حمایت کا اعلان ضرور کیا ہے، لیکن کابینہ میں شمولیت سے گریز کیا ہے، جبکہ کانگریس اپنی حمایت کے عوض اقتدار میں حصہ چاہتی ہے۔
دوسری جانب دراوڑی سیاست کے دو قدیم حریف، M. K. Stalin کی ڈی ایم کے اور اے آئی اے ڈی ایم کے کے درمیان ممکنہ مفاہمت کی افواہوں نے بھی عوامی تجسس کو بڑھا دیا، اگرچہ دونوں جماعتوں کے سینئر رہنماؤں نے ایسی کسی مفاہمت کو عملی طور پر ناممکن قرار دیا ہے۔
یہ سیاسی بحران محض اعداد و شمار کا کھیل نہیں بلکہ اس سوال کا امتحان بھی ہے کہ کیا عوامی جوش و جذبہ آئینی اکثریت کے بغیر اقتدار تک پہنچ سکتا ہے؟ تمل ناڈو اس وقت ایک ایسے موڑ پر کھڑا ہے جہاں ہر ملاقات، ہر خط اور ہر حمایت ریاست کے سیاسی مستقبل کا رخ بدل سکتی ہے۔

The political landscape of Tamil Nadu stands at a historic crossroads where public mandate, constitutional procedure, and intense political negotiations are shaping an atmosphere of uncertainty and transition. Actor-turned-politician Vijay achieved a remarkable electoral breakthrough as his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), secured 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly, disrupting the six-decade dominance of the Dravidian giants.
Yet, despite the electoral triumph, power remains just beyond reach.
Governor Vishwanath Arlekar has reportedly insisted that the TVK must submit written support from at least 118 legislators before being invited to form the government. According to reports, Vijay’s intensive negotiations with smaller parties and independent legislators have so far failed to secure the required majority, leaving the swearing-in ceremony suspended in uncertainty.
The developments have triggered widespread speculation about the emergence of Tamil Nadu’s first major coalition arrangement in recent decades. Left parties have announced outside support while declining cabinet participation, whereas the Congress is believed to be seeking representation in any future government structure.
Meanwhile, rumours of an unlikely understanding between the rival Dravidian forces — the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam — have further deepened political intrigue, though senior leaders from both camps have publicly dismissed the possibility.
More than a contest for numbers, the unfolding crisis has become a test of democratic legitimacy itself: can overwhelming public enthusiasm translate into power without constitutional certainty? Tamil Nadu now waits in suspense, as every alliance, every signature, and every political decision may determine the future direction of the state.
