آج کا سیاسی منظرنامہ ایک عجیب بے چینی، غیر یقینی اور مفاداتی کشمکش کا آئینہ دار بن چکا ہے۔ نظریات، جو کبھی سیاست کی بنیاد ہوا کرتے تھے، اب اکثر وقتی مفادات اور اقتدار کی کشش کے سامنے بے وزن دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔ وفاداریاں بدل رہی ہیں، بیانیے تبدیل ہو رہے ہیں، اور عوام ایک خاموش تماشائی کی حیثیت اختیار کرتے جا رہے ہیں۔

جمہوریت کی روح صرف انتخابات تک محدود نہیں ہوتی، بلکہ اس کا حقیقی حسن اصولوں کی پاسداری، عوامی اعتماد، اور شفافیت میں مضمر ہے۔ مگر جب سیاسی جماعتیں اقتدار کے کھیل میں اخلاقی حدود کو نظرانداز کرنے لگیں، تو جمہوریت محض ایک رسمی ڈھانچہ بن کر رہ جاتی ہے۔ آج یہی خطرہ ہمارے سامنے کھڑا ہے۔

سیاسی وفاداریوں کی تبدیلی کوئی نئی بات نہیں، لیکن جب یہ تبدیلی عوامی مفاد کے بجائے ذاتی یا وقتی فائدے کے لیے ہو، تو یہ نظام کی بنیادوں کو کمزور کر دیتی ہے۔ ایسے میں سوال یہ پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ کیا سیاست واقعی خدمت کا نام ہے، یا یہ محض طاقت کے حصول کا ایک ذریعہ بن چکی ہے؟

عوام کی ذمہ داری بھی کم نہیں۔ خاموشی، بے حسی اور وقتی نعروں کے پیچھے چلنے کا رجحان اس بحران کو مزید گہرا کرتا ہے۔ ایک باشعور معاشرہ ہی اپنے سیاسی نظام کو درست سمت دے سکتا ہے۔ اگر عوام سوال کرنا چھوڑ دیں، تو جواب دینے والے بھی بے نیاز ہو جاتے ہیں۔

وقت کا تقاضا ہے کہ سیاست کو دوبارہ اصولوں، دیانت اور خدمت کے محور پر لایا جائے۔ ورنہ یہ نظام اپنی ہی کمزوریوں کے بوجھ تلے دب جائے گا، اور اس کا نقصان سب سے زیادہ عام انسان کو اٹھانا پڑے گا۔

The Changing Face of Politics and Public Silence

Today’s political landscape reflects a deep sense of uncertainty, restlessness, and opportunism. Ideologies, once the foundation of politics, now often seem overshadowed by short-term gains and the lure of power. Loyalties are shifting, narratives are changing, and the public increasingly appears as a silent spectator.

The spirit of democracy is not confined to elections alone; its true essence lies in integrity, public trust, and transparency. However, when political forces begin to ignore ethical boundaries in pursuit of power, democracy risks becoming merely a formal structure rather than a living system. This is the challenge we face today.

Political realignments are not new, but when they occur for personal or temporary benefit rather than public good, they weaken the very foundations of governance. It raises an important question: Is politics still about service, or has it become merely a means to acquire and retain power?

The public, too, bears responsibility. Silence, indifference, and the tendency to follow slogans without reflection deepen this crisis. Only an aware and engaged society can guide its political system in the right direction. When people stop questioning, those in power stop answering.

The need of the hour is to bring politics back to its core values—principles, honesty, and service. Otherwise, the system may collapse under the weight of its own contradictions, and the greatest burden will fall on the common citizen.
