امریکی نائب صدر جے ڈی. وینس  ایک نازک سفارتی مشن پر اسلام آباد روانہ ہو گئے ہیں، جہاں وہ ایران کے ساتھ جنگ کے خاتمے کے لیے اہم مذاکرات میں شرکت کریں گے۔ روانگی سے قبل انہوں نے صحافیوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے امید ظاہر کی کہ یہ مذاکرات "مثبت” ثابت ہوں گے۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ امریکی صدر ڈونالڈ ٹرمپ نے مذاکرات کے لیے واضح رہنما اصول فراہم کیے ہیں۔ انہوں نے زور دیا کہ اگر ایران سنجیدگی اور نیک نیتی کے ساتھ بات چیت کرے تو امریکہ بھی کھلے دل کے ساتھ آگے بڑھے گا، تاہم کسی چال یا فریب کی صورت میں سخت مؤقف اختیار کیا جائے گا۔

یہ پیش رفت ایسے وقت میں سامنے آئی ہے جب امریکہ اور اسرائیل کی جانب سے ایران کے خلاف جاری جنگ ایک خطرناک موڑ پر پہنچ چکی ہے۔ ماہرین کے مطابق، نائب صدر کو براہِ راست مذاکرات کی قیادت سونپنا اس بات کا اشارہ ہے کہ واشنگٹن اس مرحلے پر زیادہ سنجیدہ اور محتاط سفارت کاری اختیار کرنا چاہتا ہے۔
