تلنگانہ کے ضلع کاماریڈی میں ہفتہ، 21 فروری کو اس وقت شدید کشیدگی پیدا ہوگئی جب حکمراں جماعت کانگریس اور بھارتیہ جنتا پارٹی (بی جے پی) کے مقامی کارکن آمنے سامنے آگئے۔
ذرائع کے مطابق کانگریس کے کچھ کارکنوں کی جانب سے کاماریڈی کے بی جے پی رکنِ اسمبلی K. Venkataramana Reddy کے کیمپ آفس کا گھیراؤ کرنے کی مبینہ کوشش کے بعد صورتحال بگڑ گئی۔
پس منظر: زمینوں پر قبضے کے الزامات
یہ تصادم دراصل دونوں جماعتوں کے رہنماؤں کے درمیان زمینوں پر قبضے کے الزامات کے حوالے سے جاری لفظی جنگ کا نتیجہ بتایا جا رہا ہے۔ دونوں جانب کے مقامی قائدین نے ایک دوسرے کو عوامی مباحثے کا چیلنج دیا تھا، تاہم ذرائع کے مطابق اس مباحثے کے لیے کوئی سرکاری اجازت نہیں دی گئی تھی۔
کانگریس کارکنان نے ایم ایل اے کے کیمپ آفس کے باہر جمع ہوکر نعرے بازی کی، جس کے بعد ماحول کشیدہ ہوگیا۔
گاڑی پر حملہ، پولیس کی مداخلت
ہنگامہ آرائی کے دوران مبینہ طور پر بی جے پی کارکنوں نے ایک مقامی کانگریسی رہنما کی گاڑی پر پتھراؤ کیا، جس سے اس کے شیشے ٹوٹ گئے۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق گاڑی کو الٹ دیا گیا اور اسے آگ لگانے کی کوشش بھی کی گئی۔
پولیس نے فوری کارروائی کرتے ہوئے دونوں جماعتوں کے کارکنوں کو منتشر کیا اور علاقے میں بھاری نفری تعینات کردی گئی۔ ذرائع کے مطابق ایم ایل اے کو احتیاطاً نظر بند رکھا گیا۔
یہ سیاسی کشمکش حالیہ بلدیاتی انتخابات کے بعد مزید شدت اختیار کرگئی ہے، جن میں کانگریس اور بی جے پی کے درمیان مقابلہ سخت رہا تھا۔

سیاست جب خدمت سے ہٹ کر انا کی جنگ بن جائے تو سڑکیں میدانِ کارزار بن جاتی ہیں۔ جمہوریت کی خوبصورتی اختلافِ رائے میں ہے، تصادم میں نہیں۔
Clash Between Congress and BJP Cadres Triggers Tension in Kamareddy
Tension flared up in Kamareddy town of Telangana on Saturday (February 21, 2026) following a clash between local cadres of the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The unrest reportedly began when a group of Congress workers attempted to lay siege to the camp office of BJP MLA K. Venkataramana Reddy in Kamareddy district headquarters.
Background: Allegations of Land Encroachment
The confrontation stemmed from an ongoing war of words between leaders of the Congress and the BJP over alleged land encroachment. The dispute escalated after local leaders from both parties challenged each other to participate in an open public debate on the issue. However, sources confirmed that no official permission had been granted for such a debate.
As Congress workers gathered outside the MLA’s camp office raising slogans, the situation quickly turned chaotic.
Vehicle Attacked, Police Intervention
In the ensuing melee, BJP workers allegedly attacked the vehicle of a local Congress leader with stones, damaging its windshields and overturning it. Reports suggest there was also an attempt to set the vehicle ablaze.
Police personnel intervened promptly, dispersing members of both parties and deploying additional forces across the town to prevent further escalation. Sources indicate that the MLA was reportedly kept under house arrest as a precautionary measure.
The political rivalry between the Congress and the BJP has intensified further in the aftermath of the recent municipal elections in the State.
Democracy thrives on debate, not destruction. When dialogue gives way to disorder, the spirit of public service is overshadowed by the shadows of confrontation.
