سویڈن کی وزارتِ خارجہ نے ایران کے لیے اپنی سفری وارننگ کو بلند ترین سطح پر پہنچاتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ موجودہ حالات میں وہاں قیام شدید خطرات کا حامل ہے۔ انٹرنیٹ اور ٹیلی فون سروس کی بندش، ملک گیر احتجاج، اور سیکیورٹی فورسز کی سخت کارروائیاں اس انتباہ کی بنیادی وجوہات بتائی جا رہی ہیں۔

یہ احتجاج 28 دسمبر سے جاری ہیں، جب ایرانی کرنسی کی تاریخی گراوٹ نے عوام کے صبر کا پیمانہ لبریز کر دیا۔ اب یہ تحریک محض معاشی احتجاج نہیں رہی بلکہ براہِ راست نظامِ حکومت کے خلاف آواز میں ڈھل چکی ہے۔ انسانی حقوق کے اداروں کے مطابق اب تک 648 افراد ہلاک اور 10,500 سے زائد گرفتار کیے جا چکے ہیں۔

Iran stands at a perilous crossroads as nationwide protests intensify, prompting Sweden and the United States to issue urgent advisories asking their citizens to leave Iran without delay.

Sweden’s Foreign Ministry elevated its travel advisory to the highest level, warning that worsening security conditions, widespread unrest, and a near-total communications blackout have made the situation increasingly dangerous.

The protests, which began on December 28 over the collapse of Iran’s currency, have since evolved into direct challenges to the country’s theocratic establishment. Rights groups report at least 648 deaths and more than 10,500 detentions amid a sweeping crackdown.

As silence replaces dialogue, the world watches anxiously—aware that Iran’s streets now echo with suppressed voices and unresolved grief.

احتجاج کی سزا اب موت بن چکی ہے۔ ایرانی حکام نے 26 سالہ عرفان سلطانی کو 14 جنوری کو پھانسی دینے کا اعلان کیا ہے—یہ حالیہ احتجاجی لہر سے جڑی پہلی رپورٹ شدہ سزائے موت بتائی جا رہی ہے۔

عرفان سلطانی، جو تہران کے قریب شہر کرج کا رہائشی تھا، رواں ماہ سڑکوں پر ہونے والے احتجاج کے دوران گرفتار کیا گیا۔ انسانی حقوق کے اداروں کے مطابق اس پر “خدا کے خلاف جنگ” کا الزام عائد کیا گیا—جو ایرانی قانون کے تحت سزائے موت کا موجب ہے۔

کرد حقوق تنظیم ہینگاو کے مطابق، سلطانی کا مقدمہ اسلامی انقلابی گارڈز سے منسلک عدالت میں چلایا گیا، اس کے اہلِ خانہ کو فیصلے سے چند دن قبل مطلع کیا گیا، جبکہ محدود انٹرنیٹ کے سائے میں انہیں ایک مختصر آخری ملاقات کی اجازت دی گئی۔

یہ واقعہ محض ایک فرد کی کہانی نہیں، بلکہ ایک پورے معاشرے کی چیخ ہے۔ تاہم ایک بات  تو طے ہے کہ زمین پر فساد پھیلانے والوں کے خلاف جہاد کا حکم بھی موجود ہے۔ البتہ یہ طے ہونا ضروری ہے کہ کیا حکومتِ وقت کے خلاف احتجاجات کیا زمین میں فتنہ پھیلانے کے ضمن میں آتا ہے؟

The Cost of Dissent: Iran Schedules Execution of 26-Year-Old Protester

Dissent in Iran now carries the ultimate penalty. Authorities have scheduled the execution of Erfan Soltani, a 26-year-old man arrested during recent anti-government protests, for January 14—marking what activists say is the first execution linked to the current unrest.

Soltani, a resident of Karaj near Tehran, was charged with “waging war against God,” a capital offence under Iranian law. Rights group Hengaw reports that his trial was conducted in a court linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, where he was denied access to an independent lawyer.

His family was informed of the verdict only days before the execution date and was granted a brief final visit amid continuing internet shutdowns across the country.

This incident is not merely the story of an individual; it is the cry of an entire society. Yet one fact remains indisputable: there exists a clear injunction to wage jihad against those who spread corruption on the earth. What must be determined, however, is whether protests against a ruling government can justly be classified as spreading disorder and mischief in the land.
