آر ایس ایس سے منسلک سیاسی چندوں سے انکار کا عہد، امریکہ کے 90 سیاسی رہنما مہم میں شامل

واشنگٹن/نئی دہلی، 3 ستمبر: امریکہ میں ڈیموکریٹک اور ریپبلکن دونوں جماعتوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے تقریباً 90 سیاسی رہنماؤں نے راشٹریہ سویم سیوک سنگھ (آر ایس ایس) سے منسلک سیاسی چندے مسترد کرنے اور ایسے عطیات واپس کرنے یا جمہوریت کے حامی اداروں کو منتقل کرنے کا عہد کیا ہے۔

یہ اعلان انسانی حقوق کی تنظیم Hindus for Human Rights Action اور SACRED Acts کی جانب سے مشترکہ بیان میں کیا گیا ہے۔ یہ پیش رفت آر ایس ایس کے سربراہ موہن بھاگوت کے امریکہ کے دورے کے اختتام کے موقع پر سامنے آئی، جس کے دوران نیویارک سمیت مختلف مقامات پر ان کے دورے کے خلاف احتجاج بھی ہوا۔

دونوں تنظیموں کے مطابق ’’عدم تشدد کے عہد‘‘ پر دستخط کرنے والے سیاسی رہنماؤں نے تین بنیادی وعدے کیے ہیں: سیاسی تشدد اور دھمکیوں کو مسترد کرنا، آر ایس ایس اور اس سے وابستہ تنظیموں سے منسلک سیاسی عطیات قبول نہ کرنا، اور ایسے موصول شدہ عطیات واپس یا جمہوریت نواز تنظیموں کو منتقل کرنا۔

یہ عہد وفاقی، ریاستی اور مقامی سطح کے منتخب نمائندوں اور امیدواروں نے آٹھ امریکی ریاستوں میں کیا ہے۔ مشترکہ بیان کے مطابق اس میں دونوں بڑی سیاسی جماعتوں سے تعلق رکھنے والی شخصیات شامل ہیں۔

امریکی رکنِ کانگریس رو کھنہ نے کہا کہ انہیں حال ہی میں ایک ایسے عطیے کا علم ہوا جو ایک پرو-میگا ارب پتی کی جانب سے دیا گیا تھا اور جس کے آر ایس ایس سے روابط بتائے گئے ہیں۔ ان کے مطابق وہ 6,600 ڈالر کا یہ عطیہ واپس کر رہے ہیں۔

نیویارک کے 10ویں کانگریشنل ڈسٹرکٹ کے ڈیموکریٹک امیدوار بریڈ لینڈر نے بھی مذہبی تقسیم، تشدد اور انتہا پسندی کو مسترد کرنے پر زور دیتے ہوئے عہد کی حمایت کی۔ رکنِ کانگریس پرمیلا جے پال نے آر ایس ایس کو امریکہ کی دائیں بازو کی انتہاپسند تحریکوں کے ساتھ رکھتے ہوئے جمہوریت کو کمزور کرنے والی قوتوں کو مسترد کرنے کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔

امریکی کمیشن برائے بین الاقوامی مذہبی آزادی (USCIRF) کی جانب سے بھی حالیہ عرصے میں آر ایس ایس اور بھارت میں مذہبی آزادی سے متعلق تشویش کا اظہار کیا گیا ہے۔ کمیشن نے بھارتی حکومت کی بعض پالیسیوں کو آر ایس ایس کی ہندوتوا نظریے سے قریب قرار دیتے ہوئے مذہبی اقلیتوں کے خلاف امتیاز کا خدشہ ظاہر کیا ہے۔

دریں اثنا، کینیڈا کی تنظیم Just Peace Advocates نے 21 ایسی تنظیموں کے خلاف کینیڈا ریونیو ایجنسی سے شکایت کی ہے جن کے بارے میں اس کا دعویٰ ہے کہ ان کے آر ایس ایس سے روابط ہیں۔ تنظیم نے ان اداروں کی جانب سے خیراتی حیثیت کے دعووں کی جانچ کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔

خبر کے مطابق فرانس کی سائنسز پو یونیورسٹی سے منسلک ایک تحقیقی ذخیرے میں امریکہ میں آر ایس ایس سے وابستہ 113 تنظیموں کی نشاندہی کی گئی ہے۔ اسی تحقیق کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے کینیڈا میں آر ایس ایس سے وابستہ تنظیموں کے درمیان تقریباً 46 ملین ڈالر کی منتقلی اور مزید 21.5 ملین ڈالر بیرونِ ملک آر ایس ایس سے منسلک گروہوں کو بھیجے جانے کا دعویٰ بھی کیا گیا ہے۔

آر ایس ایس اور اس سے منسلک تنظیموں کے بارے میں یہ الزامات اور دعوے متعلقہ اداروں کے مؤقف کے ساتھ دیکھے جانے چاہئیں۔

90 US Political Leaders Pledge to Reject RSS-Linked Political Donations

Washington/New Delhi, September 3: Around 90 political leaders from both Democratic and Republican circles in the United States have pledged to reject political donations linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and to return or redirect such contributions to pro-democracy organisations.

The pledge was announced in a joint statement by Hindus for Human Rights Action and SACRED Acts as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat concluded his US visit, which was accompanied by protests and opposition in New York and elsewhere.

According to the two organisations, the “Nonviolence Pledge” carries three key commitments: rejecting political violence and intimidation; refusing political contributions linked to the RSS and its affiliates; and returning or redirecting such contributions to organisations working to strengthen democracy.

The pledge has reportedly been signed by elected officials and candidates at the federal, state and municipal levels across eight US states, with representatives from both major political parties among the signatories.

US Congressman Ro Khanna said he had recently discovered a $6,600 political contribution from a pro-MAGA billionaire described as having ties to the RSS. Khanna said he would give the money away and reaffirmed his opposition to what he described as the RSS’s attacks on democracy.

Brad Lander, the Democratic nominee for New York’s 10th Congressional District, also endorsed the pledge, arguing that Americans should reject religious division, violence and extremism both at home and abroad.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal was quoted as saying that right-wing organisations seeking to undermine democracy—whether in the United States or India—should be rejected.

The development comes amid growing scrutiny of the RSS and its ideology in sections of American civil society and politics. The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has also recently expressed concern over religious freedom in India and argued that some policies of the Indian government closely align with the RSS’s Hindutva ideology.

Meanwhile, Canadian rights organisation Just Peace Advocates has filed a complaint with the Canada Revenue Agency against 21 organisations it says have links to the RSS. The organisation has asked Canadian authorities to examine whether those groups meet the requirements associated with their claimed charitable status.

The report also cites research associated with Sciences Po in France that has identified 113 organisations in the United States linked to the RSS. The same research repository is cited in connection with claims that approximately $46 million moved between RSS-affiliated organisations in Canada, while a further $21.5 million was transferred from those organisations to RSS-linked groups abroad.

The allegations and claims concerning the RSS and affiliated organisations remain matters of public and political debate and should be considered alongside responses from the organisations concerned.
