دنیا ایک ایسے دور سے گزر رہی ہے جہاں اختلافِ رائے کو دشمنی اور تنقید کو غداری سمجھنے کا رجحان تیزی سے بڑھ رہا ہے۔ سیاسی اختلافات ہوں، مذہبی معاملات ہوں یا سماجی مسائل، ہر طرف زبانیں تلخ اور فاصلے وسیع ہوتے جا رہے ہیں۔ ایسے ماحول میں سب سے زیادہ نقصان سچ، انصاف اور انسانیت کو پہنچتا ہے۔

تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ معاشرے طاقت کے بل پر نہیں بلکہ مکالمے، برداشت اور باہمی احترام سے آگے بڑھتے ہیں۔ جب بات چیت کے دروازے بند ہو جاتے ہیں تو افواہیں، تعصبات اور تشدد ان کی جگہ لے لیتے ہیں۔ یہی وہ مرحلہ ہوتا ہے جہاں قومیں تقسیم اور معاشرے کمزور ہونے لگتے ہیں۔

قرآنِ مجید ہمیں بہترین انداز میں گفتگو کرنے کی تعلیم دیتا ہے: "وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا” (البقرہ: 83) یعنی "لوگوں سے بھلی بات کہو۔” رسولِ اکرم ﷺ نے بھی فرمایا: "جو اللہ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو، وہ اچھی بات کہے یا خاموش رہے۔” (صحیح بخاری)

صحافت کا اصل مقصد بھی اختلافات کو ہوا دینا نہیں بلکہ حقائق کو دیانت داری سے سامنے لانا، کمزوروں کی آواز بننا اور معاشرے میں اعتماد کو فروغ دینا ہے۔ میڈیا اگر سنسنی کے بجائے ذمہ داری، اور تقسیم کے بجائے ہم آہنگی کو ترجیح دے تو بہت سے تنازعات جنم لینے سے پہلے ہی ختم ہو سکتے ہیں۔

آج ضرورت اس بات کی ہے کہ ہم اختلاف کو دشمنی نہ بنائیں، سوال کو جرم نہ سمجھیں اور مکالمے کے دروازے کبھی بند نہ کریں۔ قومیں اسی وقت مضبوط بنتی ہیں جب وہ اپنے اختلافات کو دلیل، انصاف اور احترام کے ساتھ حل کرنا سیکھ لیتی ہیں۔

الف نیوز کا یقین ہے کہ نفرت کا جواب نفرت نہیں بلکہ سچ، انصاف، برداشت اور انسانی وقار کا فروغ ہے۔ یہی راستہ ایک پرامن، باوقار اور متحد معاشرے کی بنیاد رکھ سکتا ہے۔

The Need for Dialogue in an Age of Division

Our world is passing through a time when disagreement is increasingly treated as hostility and criticism is often mistaken for disloyalty. Whether in politics, religion, or social life, public discourse is becoming harsher while mutual trust continues to erode. In such an environment, truth, justice, and human dignity suffer the greatest loss.

History teaches us that societies are not strengthened by force alone but by dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect. When the doors of conversation are closed, rumours, prejudice, and violence take their place. This is how communities become divided and nations grow weaker.

The Holy Qur’an reminds believers: "Speak kindly to people” (Qur’an 2:83). Likewise, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak what is good or remain silent.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

The true purpose of journalism is not to inflame differences but to present facts with integrity, give voice to the unheard, and strengthen public trust. When the media chooses responsibility over sensationalism and harmony over division, it contributes to a healthier and more resilient society.

The need of our time is to accept disagreement without turning it into hatred, to encourage questions instead of suppressing them, and to keep the doors of dialogue open. Strong nations are built by resolving differences through reason, justice, and respect.
