پارلیمنٹ میں ڈی ایم کے کی الگ راہ

نئی دہلی: پارلیمنٹ کے حالیہ اجلاس کے دوران دراؤڑ منیترا کڑگم (ڈی ایم کے) نے کئی اہم مواقع پر اپوزیشن جماعتوں سے مختلف پارلیمانی حکمتِ عملی اختیار کرتے ہوئے اپنی الگ سیاسی شناخت کو نمایاں کیا ہے۔

راجیہ سبھا میں عوامی امتحانات (غیر منصفانہ ذرائع کی روک تھام) ترمیمی بل 2026 پر ووٹنگ کے دوران کانگریس اور دیگر اپوزیشن جماعتوں نے احتجاجاً واک آؤٹ کیا، تاہم ڈی ایم کے نے ایوان میں رہ کر بحث اور کارروائی میں حصہ لیا۔ پارٹی نے واضح کیا کہ واک آؤٹ نہ کرنے کا مطلب بل کی حمایت نہیں بلکہ اپنی ترامیم پیش کرنے کی کوشش تھا، جنہیں خاطر خواہ اہمیت نہیں دی گئی۔

اسی طرح لوک سبھا میں قومی وقار کی توہین کی روک تھام (ترمیمی) بل پر بھی ڈی ایم کے نے بحث میں حصہ لیا، جبکہ دیگر اپوزیشن جماعتوں نے مختلف حکمتِ عملی اختیار کی۔ پارٹی کے ارکان اے راجہ اور کنی موزھی نے اس بل کی مخالفت کرتے ہوئے اسے ملک کے سیکولر کردار کے منافی اور ہندوتوا ایجنڈے سے ہم آہنگ قرار دیا۔

ڈی ایم کے کے رہنما تروچی سیوا نے کہا کہ پارٹی حکومت کے جواب سے مطمئن نہیں ہے اور اس کا مؤقف اب بھی واضح ہے کہ نیٹ (NEET) کا خاتمہ ہونا چاہیے۔

سیاسی مبصرین کے مطابق، کانگریس سے فاصلہ اختیار کرنے اور انڈیا اتحاد سے علیحدگی کے بعد پارلیمنٹ میں ڈی ایم کے کی آزاد حکمتِ عملی مستقبل کے اہم قانون سازی کے مراحل، خصوصاً خواتین کے لیے ریزرویشن اور حلقہ بندی سے متعلق آئینی ترامیم، میں فیصلہ کن کردار ادا کر سکتی ہے۔

DMK Takes Independent Parliamentary Line, Skips Opposition Walkout

New Delhi: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) continued to pursue an independent parliamentary strategy during the ongoing Monsoon Session, choosing not to join the Opposition’s walkout during voting on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in the Rajya Sabha.

While Congress and several Opposition parties staged a walkout in protest over the government’s handling of the NEET paper leak and police action against student protesters, the DMK remained in the House, stating that it wanted to move amendments and participate in the legislative process. The party clarified that staying in the House should not be interpreted as support for the Bill.

A day earlier, the DMK also participated in the Lok Sabha debate on the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, even as several Opposition parties adopted a different strategy. During the debate, DMK MPs A. Raja and Kanimozhi strongly opposed the proposed legislation, arguing that it was inconsistent with India’s secular principles.

DMK leader Tiruchi Siva said the party was dissatisfied with the government’s response and reiterated its long-standing demand for the abolition of NEET.

Political observers believe the party’s independent stance has gained significance after its exit from the INDIA bloc. With its substantial strength in both Houses of Parliament, the DMK could play an important role in future voting on major constitutional measures, including proposals related to women’s reservation and delimitation.
