نئی دہلی: ملک گیر طلبہ احتجاج کے بعد مرکزی وزیر تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفے کے فوری بعد وزیراعظم نریندر مودی کے مشورے پر صدرِ جمہوریہ نے مرکزی کابینہ کے سینئر رکن پرہلاد جوشی کو وزارتِ تعلیم کی اضافی ذمہ داری سونپ دی ہے۔

صدرِ جمہوریہ کی جانب سے جاری سرکاری بیان کے مطابق پرہلاد جوشی اپنی موجودہ وزارتوں—صارفین کے امور، خوراک و عوامی تقسیم اور نئی و قابلِ تجدید توانائی—کے ساتھ ساتھ اب وزارتِ تعلیم کی ذمہ داریاں بھی انجام دیں گے۔

اسی بیان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ صدرِ جمہوریہ نے آئینِ ہند کے آرٹیکل 75(2) کے تحت وزیراعظم کے مشورے پر دھرمیندر پردھان کا استعفا فوری طور پر منظور کر لیا ہے۔

دھرمیندر پردھان نے ملک بھر میں امتحانی پرچوں کے مبینہ افشا اور اس کے خلاف جاری طلبہ احتجاج کے تناظر میں اپنا استعفا پیش کیا تھا۔ ان کے استعفے کے بعد وزارتِ تعلیم کی ذمہ داری عارضی طور پر پرہلاد جوشی کو سونپی گئی ہے۔

Pralhad Joshi Given Additional Charge of Union Education Ministry
New Delhi: Senior Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Education following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan amid nationwide student protests. The appointment was made on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and approved by the President of India.
According to an official statement, Mr. Joshi will continue to handle his existing portfolios of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy while also overseeing the Education Ministry.
The statement further said that the President has accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect under Article 75(2) of the Constitution of India.
Mr. Pradhan resigned in the wake of nationwide protests over alleged examination paper leaks and growing public pressure. The additional charge of the Education Ministry has now been entrusted to Pralhad Joshi until further arrangements are made.
