چنئی، یکم جولائی: تمل ناڈو کی حکمراں جماعت تملگا ویٹری کزگم (TVK) نے ریاست میں ایک "نئے سیکولر اتحاد” کی تشکیل کا عندیہ دیا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں وزیرِ اعلیٰ اور پارٹی سربراہ وجے نے بدھ کے روز مختلف سیاسی جماعتوں کے قائدین کا ایک اہم اجلاس طلب کیا ہے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق اس مجوزہ اتحاد میں وہ بیشتر جماعتیں شامل ہوسکتی ہیں جو ماضی میں ڈی ایم کے کی قیادت والے سیکولر پروگریسو الائنس (SPA) کا حصہ رہ چکی ہیں۔ اجلاس میں کانگریس، کمیونسٹ پارٹی آف انڈیا (مارکسسٹ)، کمیونسٹ پارٹی آف انڈیا، انڈین یونین مسلم لیگ (IUML)، ودوتھلائی چرُتھائیگل کچی (VCK) اور ایم ڈی ایم کے (MDMK) کو مدعو کیا گیا ہے۔

اطلاعات کے مطابق اس ملاقات کا مقصد ان جماعتوں کا شکریہ ادا کرنا بھی ہے جنہوں نے حکومت کی تشکیل کے نازک مرحلے میں ٹی وی کے کی حمایت کی تھی۔

دوسری جانب ٹی وی کے حالیہ دنوں میں اے آئی اے ڈی ایم کے کے کئی سابق ارکانِ اسمبلی کو اپنی جماعت میں شامل کر رہی ہے، جس پر اپوزیشن کی جانب سے "ارکان کی توڑ پھوڑ” (Horse Trading) کے الزامات بھی عائد کیے جا رہے ہیں۔

فی الحال 234 رکنی تمل ناڈو اسمبلی میں ٹی وی کے کے اپنے 107 ارکان ہیں، جبکہ مختلف جماعتوں کے 13 ارکان حکومت کو اندر یا باہر سے حمایت فراہم کر رہے ہیں۔ سیاسی مبصرین کے مطابق کانگریس، وی سی کے، آئی یو ایم ایل اور ایم ڈی ایم کے کے اس اتحاد میں شامل ہونے کے امکانات روشن ہیں، تاہم بائیں بازو کی جماعتوں کا حتمی موقف اجلاس کے بعد ہی واضح ہو سکے گا۔

TVK Moves to Build a ‘New Secular Alliance’ in Tamil Nadu, Former DMK Allies Invited

Chennai, July 1: Tamil Nadu’s ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has initiated efforts to form a "New Secular Alliance” in the state. Chief Minister and TVK president Vijay has convened a meeting of several political leaders on Wednesday to discuss the proposed alliance.

According to reports, the invited parties include the Indian National Congress, CPI(M), CPI, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK). Most of these parties were previously part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA).

Sources said the meeting is also intended to thank political parties that extended support to TVK during a crucial phase of government formation.

Meanwhile, TVK has been inducting former AIADMK legislators into the party, leading to opposition allegations of political "horse-trading” aimed at strengthening its legislative position.

At present, TVK has 107 legislators of its own in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and also enjoys the support of 13 legislators from different parties, either from within the government or from outside.

Political observers believe that Congress, VCK, IUML and MDMK are likely to join the proposed alliance, while the response of the Left parties is expected to become clear after the meeting.
