زرعی زمینوں کے حصول کے خلاف کسانوں کے بڑے احتجاج کے بعد حکومت نے عمل روک دیا

مہاراشٹر کے ضلع گڈچرولی میں ہزاروں کسانوں نے مجوزہ ہوائی اڈے، صنعتی منصوبوں اور کان کنی کے پراجیکٹس کے لیے زرعی زمینوں کے حصول کے خلاف زبردست احتجاج کیا، جس کے بعد ریاستی حکومت کو زمین کے حصول کا عمل عارضی طور پر روکنے پر مجبور ہونا پڑا۔

اطلاعات کے مطابق تقریباً 311.81 ہیکٹر زرعی زمین پر مجوزہ گڈچرولی ہوائی اڈہ تعمیر کرنے کی منصوبہ بندی کی جا رہی تھی۔ اس کے علاوہ مختلف صنعتی منصوبوں، فولاد سازی کے مراکز اور کان کنی سے متعلق سرگرمیوں کے لیے بھی متعدد دیہات کی زمینیں حاصل کی جا رہی تھیں۔

احتجاج میں شریک کسانوں کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ اپنی زرخیز زرعی زمینیں کسی بھی قیمت پر نہیں چھوڑیں گے۔ مظاہرین نے الزام عائد کیا کہ بڑے صنعتی اداروں اور نجی کمپنیوں کے مفادات کے لیے مقامی کسانوں اور قبائلی آبادیوں کے حقوق کو نظر انداز کیا جا رہا ہے۔

ضلع ہیڈکوارٹر پر منعقد ہونے والے اس احتجاج میں چھ ہزار سے زائد کسان شریک ہوئے۔ مظاہرین نے ضلع کلکٹر کے دفتر کے باہر دھرنا دیا اور زمین کے حصول کے تمام منصوبوں کو فوری طور پر منسوخ کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔

کسانوں کے شدید دباؤ کے بعد ریاستی وزیر آشیش جیسوال نے مظاہرین سے ملاقات کی اور تحریری یقین دہانی کرائی کہ فی الحال زمین کے حصول کا عمل روک دیا جائے گا۔ حکومت نے مقامی باشندوں اور کسانوں کو اپنے اعتراضات اور تجاویز جمع کرانے کے لیے مزید نوّے دن کی مہلت بھی دی ہے۔

ریاستی حکومت نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ وزیر اعلیٰ دیویندر فڑنویس کی سطح پر کسانوں کے نمائندوں کے ساتھ دوبارہ مشاورت کی جائے گی اور عوامی خدشات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے آئندہ لائحۂ عمل طے کیا جائے گا۔

مقامی تنظیموں کا کہنا ہے کہ ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے نام پر زرعی اور قبائلی زمینوں کا حصول سماجی و معاشی توازن کو متاثر کرسکتا ہے، جبکہ حکومت کا مؤقف ہے کہ یہ منصوبے خطے کی معاشی ترقی اور روزگار کے مواقع میں اضافہ کریں گے۔ :::

Maharashtra: Farmers’ Massive Protest Forces Govt to Halt Land Acquisition in Gadchiroli

Gadchiroli, Maharashtra:
The Maharashtra government has temporarily suspended the land acquisition process for a proposed airport and several industrial projects in Gadchiroli after thousands of farmers staged a large-scale protest against the move.

The controversy revolves around the acquisition of nearly 311.81 hectares of fertile agricultural land for the proposed Gadchiroli Airport. Farmers have also opposed additional land acquisition efforts linked to industrial estates, mining activities, and large corporate projects in several villages across the district.

Protesters argued that they would not surrender productive agricultural land that supports their livelihoods. Many farmers alleged that the interests of local communities, including tribal populations, were being overlooked in favor of industrial expansion.

More than 6,000 farmers reportedly marched to the district headquarters and demonstrated outside the Collector’s office, demanding an immediate halt to all land acquisition proceedings.

Following the agitation, Maharashtra Minister Ashish Jaiswal met farmer representatives and provided a written assurance that the acquisition process would be put on hold. The state government has also granted residents an additional 90 days to submit objections and representations regarding the proposed industrial township and related projects.

The government has indicated that further discussions will be held with farmer representatives and reviewed at the level of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis before any final decision is taken.

While local groups warn that large-scale acquisition of agricultural and tribal lands could have serious social and economic consequences, the state government maintains that the projects are intended to boost regional development, infrastructure, and employment opportunities. :::
