کبھی کبھی تاریخ اپنے زخمی صفحات پر اچانک ایک ایسا جملہ لکھ دیتی ہے جس سے بارود کی بو میں بھی امن کی خوشبو محسوس ہونے لگتی ہے۔ امریکہ اور ایران کے درمیان جنگ کے خاتمے کے لیے طے پانے والے معاہدے کی خبر نے دنیا بھر میں ایک ایسی ہی امید جگائی ہے۔ مہینوں سے جاری کشیدگی، ہزاروں جانوں کے ضیاع اور عالمی معیشت پر منڈلاتے خطرات کے بعد یہ پیش رفت سفارت کاری کی طاقت کا ایک اہم اظہار سمجھی جا رہی ہے۔

امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ ایران کے ساتھ معاہدہ مکمل ہو چکا ہے اور آبنائے ہرمز کو دوبارہ عالمی بحری آمدورفت کے لیے کھول دیا جائے گا۔ دوسری جانب ایران کے نائب وزیر خارجہ کاظم غریب آبادی نے عندیہ دیا ہے کہ آئندہ ساٹھ روزہ جنگ بندی کے دوران پابندیوں کے خاتمے سمیت دیگر اہم امور پر بھی مذاکرات جاری رہیں گے۔

دنیا کے مختلف دارالحکومتوں سے اس پیش رفت کا خیر مقدم کیا گیا۔ قطر نے اسے اختلافات کے پُرامن حل کی جانب ایک مثبت قدم قرار دیا، جبکہ پاکستان کے وزیر اعظم شہباز شریف نے اسے سفارتی دانش مندی کی کامیابی بتایا اور قطر، سعودی عرب اور ترکیہ کی کوششوں کو سراہا۔

ترکیہ کے صدر رجب طیب اردوان نے کہا کہ یہ معاہدہ خطے میں امن اور سکون کے قیام کے لیے ایک اہم پیش رفت ہے۔ اقوام متحدہ کے سیکریٹری جنرل انتونیو گوتریس نے اسے تنازع کے پُرامن حل کی جانب ایک "اہم قدم” قرار دیا، جبکہ برطانیہ اور فرانس نے آبنائے ہرمز کی فوری اور غیر مشروط بحالی کو عالمی استحکام کے لیے ناگزیر قرار دیا۔

اگرچہ معاہدے کی حتمی تفصیلات ابھی منظر عام پر نہیں آئیں، تاہم عالمی منڈیوں میں مثبت ردعمل دیکھنے میں آیا ہے۔ تیل کی قیمتوں میں کمی اور اسٹاک مارکیٹوں میں بہتری اس امید کی عکاسی کرتی ہے کہ شاید دنیا ایک اور طویل اور تباہ کن جنگ کے دہانے سے واپس لوٹ رہی ہے۔

یہ معاہدہ صرف دو ریاستوں کے درمیان طے پانے والی ایک سیاسی دستاویز نہیں، بلکہ اس سوال کا جواب بھی ہے کہ کیا بندوقوں کی گونج سے بلند تر کوئی آواز موجود ہے؟ اگر فریقین اپنے وعدوں کی پاسداری کرتے ہیں تو ممکن ہے کہ یہ معاہدہ آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے اس سبق میں بدل جائے کہ مکالمہ، دشمنی کے اندھیروں سے زیادہ طاقتور روشنی رکھتا ہے۔

History occasionally pauses amid the noise of conflict to write a sentence of hope. The announcement of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has sparked such a moment, offering the world a glimpse of diplomacy at a time when war seemed destined to define the region’s future.

After months of hostilities that claimed thousands of lives, disrupted global energy markets, and heightened fears of a wider regional conflict, Washington and Tehran have announced an agreement aimed at ending the war and reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The development is being widely viewed as a significant diplomatic breakthrough.

US President Donald Trump declared that the agreement with Iran had been completed, while Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi indicated that broader negotiations, including sanctions relief, would continue during a proposed 60-day ceasefire period.

The response from the international community has been overwhelmingly positive. Qatar welcomed the commitment of both sides to resolve differences through peaceful means. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the diplomatic effort and acknowledged the contributions of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye in facilitating the process.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan described the agreement as an important step towards peace and tranquillity in the region. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called it a critical move towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Leaders in the United Kingdom and France likewise stressed the urgent importance of restoring unrestricted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a lifeline for global commerce and energy security.

Although many details of the agreement remain to be clarified, financial markets have already responded with optimism. Rising stock markets and easing oil prices reflect hopes that the world may be stepping back from the edge of a prolonged and destructive confrontation.

More than a political document, this agreement represents a test of whether dialogue can prevail over destruction.
