کیا 6 جون ہندوستان کے جمہوری سفر کا ایک اہم موڑ بن سکتا ہے؟

کبھی کبھی تاریخ کے بڑے ابواب پارلیمنٹ کی بلند عمارتوں میں نہیں بلکہ سڑکوں پر جمع ہونے والے عام لوگوں کے قدموں سے لکھے جاتے ہیں۔ ہندوستان اس وقت ایک ایسے ہی سوال کے سامنے کھڑا دکھائی دیتا ہے جہاں تعلیم، شفافیت، احتساب اور جمہوری ذمہ داری کے موضوعات ایک بار پھر قومی بحث کا مرکز بن رہے ہیں۔

تعلیمی کارکن اور ماحولیاتی مفکر سونم وانگچک کی جانب سے "کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی” کے مجوزہ احتجاج میں شمولیت کے اعلان نے اس تحریک کو نئی توجہ اور نئی معنویت عطا کی ہے۔ وانگچک کوئی روایتی سیاسی رہنما نہیں بلکہ ایک ایسی شخصیت ہیں جنہوں نے برسوں سے تعلیم، نوجوانوں کے مستقبل اور پائیدار ترقی کے موضوعات پر کام کیا ہے۔ ان کی جانب سے اس احتجاج کی تائید کو بہت سے لوگ اس بات کی علامت کے طور پر دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ تعلیمی بحران اور امتحانی نظام پر عوامی تشویش محض چند طلبہ یا کارکنوں تک محدود نہیں رہی۔

نیٹ کے پرچوں کے افشا ہونے، امتحانی بے ضابطگیوں اور تعلیمی اداروں کی کارکردگی سے متعلق سوالات نے ملک بھر کے لاکھوں طلبہ اور والدین کو متاثر کیا ہے۔ جب نوجوانوں کا اعتماد متزلزل ہوتا ہے تو دراصل قوم کے مستقبل کی بنیادیں لرزنے لگتی ہیں۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ اس مسئلے کو صرف ایک انتظامی کوتاہی کے بجائے قومی اہمیت کے سوال کے طور پر دیکھا جا رہا ہے۔

یہ بھی حقیقت ہے کہ احتجاج اور اختلافِ رائے جمہوریت کا بنیادی حق ہیں۔ اگر کوئی شہری، خواہ وہ نوجوان ہو یا بزرگ، مرد ہو یا عورت، بدعنوانی کے خلاف آواز اٹھانا چاہتا ہے اور ملک میں زیادہ شفاف، جواب دہ اور دیانت دار نظام کا خواہاں ہے تو اس کے حقِ اظہار کا احترام ہونا چاہیے۔ البتہ اس کے ساتھ یہ ذمہ داری بھی عائد ہوتی ہے کہ احتجاج پرامن، آئینی اور نظم و ضبط کے دائرے میں رہے۔

6 جون کے حوالے سے کئی سوالات گردش کر رہے ہیں۔ کیا حکومت اس احتجاج کو مکمل آزادی کے ساتھ ہونے دے گی؟ کیا انتظامیہ امن و امان برقرار رکھنے میں کامیاب ہوگی؟ کیا بعض شرپسند عناصر اس موقع کو ہنگامہ آرائی کے لیے استعمال کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے؟ اور سب سے بڑھ کر، کیا یہ اجتماع واقعی تعلیمی اصلاحات اور احتساب کے بارے میں ایک قومی مکالمے کو جنم دے سکے گا؟

ان سوالات کے جوابات آنے والا وقت دے گا۔ تاہم ایک بات واضح ہے کہ قومیں صرف اقتصادی ترقی کے اعداد و شمار سے نہیں بلکہ اپنے نوجوانوں کے اعتماد، اپنے اداروں کی شفافیت اور اپنے شہریوں کی آواز سننے کی صلاحیت سے عظیم بنتی ہیں۔

ممکن ہے 6 جون ایک عام دن ثابت ہو۔ ممکن ہے یہ ہندوستانی جمہوریت کی تاریخ میں ایک یادگار باب بن جائے۔ لیکن اس سے بھی زیادہ اہم یہ ہے کہ ملک اپنے نوجوانوں کے سوالات کا جواب کس طرح دیتا ہے۔ کیونکہ مستقبل کا ہندوستان صرف 2047 کے خوابوں سے نہیں بلکہ آج کے فیصلوں سے تعمیر ہوگا۔

Could June 6 Become a Significant Day in India’s Democratic Journey?

History is not always written inside grand parliamentary halls; sometimes it is shaped by ordinary citizens gathering in public spaces to demand accountability and reform. India appears to be approaching such a moment as questions surrounding education, transparency, and democratic responsibility once again dominate public discourse.

The announcement by activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk that he may join the proposed protest organised by the “Cockroach Janta Party” has brought renewed attention to the movement. Wangchuk is not a conventional politician but a public figure widely associated with educational innovation and social engagement. His decision to support the protest has been interpreted by many as a sign that concerns about examination irregularities and educational governance have moved beyond student circles and entered the broader national conversation.

The controversies surrounding examination leaks, administrative failures, and questions of institutional accountability have affected millions of students and families across the country. When trust in the education system is shaken, it is not merely an academic issue; it becomes a question about the future of an entire generation.

In a democracy, peaceful dissent remains a legitimate and essential right. Citizens who seek greater transparency, integrity, and accountability in public institutions have every right to express their concerns. At the same time, all stakeholders share the responsibility of ensuring that such expressions remain peaceful, constitutional, and constructive.

As June 6 approaches, several questions remain unanswered. Will authorities allow the protest to proceed without restrictions? Can law and order be maintained effectively? Could disruptive elements attempt to exploit the situation? Most importantly, will this gathering succeed in creating a meaningful national dialogue on educational reform and public accountability?

No one can predict the outcome with certainty. What can be said, however, is that nations are strengthened not only by economic growth but also by public trust, institutional credibility, and the willingness of governments to listen to their citizens.

June 6 may ultimately prove to be an ordinary day. It may also emerge as a noteworthy moment in India’s democratic history. The answer will depend not merely on the size of the protest, but on how the nation responds to the concerns of its young people. For the India of 2047 will be shaped not by aspirations alone, but by the choices made today.
