کیرالا کی سیاسی فضا میں ایک بار پھر تبدیلی کی لہر اُبھری ہے، جہاں Indian National Congress کی قیادت میں قائم United Democratic Front (یو ڈی ایف) نے دس برس بعد اقتدار میں شاندار واپسی کی ہے۔
140 رکنی اسمبلی میں یو ڈی ایف نے 90 سے زائد نشستیں حاصل کر کے واضح اکثریت حاصل کی، جو کہ سادہ اکثریت (71 نشستیں) سے خاصی زیادہ ہے۔ اس کامیابی میں کانگریس نے 63 نشستوں کے ساتھ مرکزی کردار ادا کیا، جبکہ اس کے اہم اتحادی Indian Union Muslim League نے 22 نشستیں جیت کر اتحاد کو مضبوط بنیاد فراہم کی۔
یہ کامیابی صرف عددی برتری نہیں بلکہ ایک واضح عوامی پیغام بھی سمجھی جا رہی ہے۔ یو ڈی ایف نے نہ صرف اکثریت حاصل کی بلکہ اپنے بڑے حریف Left Democratic Front کو نمایاں فرق سے پیچھے چھوڑ دیا۔ وزیر اعلیٰ Pinarayi Vijayan کی قیادت میں بائیں محاذ محدود نشستوں تک سکڑ گیا، جو سیاسی منظرنامے میں ایک بڑی تبدیلی کی علامت ہے۔
پارٹی کے سینئر رہنماؤں، جن میں Shashi Tharoor اور K. C. Venugopal شامل ہیں، نے اس نتیجے کو “تبدیلی کے حق میں عوامی فیصلہ” قرار دیا۔ دارالحکومت Thiruvananthapuram میں پارٹی کارکنوں کی جانب سے بھرپور جشن منایا گیا، جو اس تاریخی کامیابی کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔

Congress Returns to Power in Kerala — A Clear Mandate for Change
In a significant political shift, the Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has made a strong comeback in Kerala, returning to power after a decade.
In the 140-member Assembly, the UDF secured over 90 seats, comfortably crossing the majority mark of 71. The Congress played a leading role with 63 seats, while its key ally, the Indian Union Muslim League, contributed 22 seats, reinforcing the alliance’s dominance.
The scale of victory reflects not just electoral success but a decisive public mandate. The UDF outperformed its main rival, the Left Democratic Front, by a wide margin. Led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the LDF was reduced to significantly fewer seats, marking a notable political setback.
Senior leaders, including Shashi Tharoor and K. C. Venugopal, described the outcome as a “mandate for change.” Celebrations erupted across the state, particularly in Thiruvananthapuram, highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding the victory.
This result signals a new political chapter in Kerala, where voters have not only changed the government but also reshaped the state’s political direction.
