آج کی دنیا میں جہاں ترقی کے نام پر انسان نے زمین کو مسخر کر لیا ہے، وہیں دلوں کی دنیا اجڑتی ہوئی محسوس ہوتی ہے۔ فرقہ وارانہ تعصبات نے انسان کو انسان سے دور کر دیا ہے، اور شناخت کی بنیاد پر نفرت کے بیج بوئے جا رہے ہیں۔ سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا یہی وہ تہذیب ہے جس پر ہمیں فخر ہونا چاہیے؟

فرقہ وارانہ ہم آہنگی محض ایک نعرہ نہیں، بلکہ ایک فکری اور اخلاقی ضرورت ہے۔ یہ وہ روشنی ہے جو مختلف عقائد، مذاہب اور نظریات کے درمیان پل کا کام کرتی ہے۔ جب انسان اپنے ایمان سے پہلے انسانیت کو ترجیح دیتا ہے، تبھی معاشرہ امن کا گہوارہ بنتا ہے۔

ہماری تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ جب بھی ہم نے تنوع کو قبول کیا، ہم نے ترقی کی؛ اور جب ہم نے تنگ نظری کو اپنایا، ہم زوال کا شکار ہوئے۔ چاہے وہ برصغیر کی گنگا-جمنی تہذیب ہو یا اندلس کی علمی فضا، ہر جگہ ہم آہنگی نے ہی علم، ادب اور تہذیب کو فروغ دیا۔

افسوس کی بات یہ ہے کہ آج مذہب کو سیاست کا ہتھیار بنا کر لوگوں کے درمیان دیواریں کھڑی کی جا رہی ہیں۔ جذبات کو بھڑکا کر وقتی فائدے تو حاصل کیے جا سکتے ہیں، مگر اس کی قیمت پورا معاشرہ ادا کرتا ہے۔ نفرت کی آگ جب بھڑکتی ہے تو اس میں سب جلتے ہیں—کسی ایک فرقے یا طبقے کی نہیں، پوری انسانیت کی شکست ہوتی ہے۔

ضرورت اس بات کی ہے کہ ہم اپنے دلوں میں وسعت پیدا کریں، مکالمے کو فروغ دیں، اور اختلاف کو دشمنی میں نہ بدلنے دیں۔ تعلیمی ادارے، میڈیا، اور مذہبی رہنما سب کو اپنی ذمہ داری سمجھنی ہوگی کہ وہ محبت، برداشت اور باہمی احترام کا پیغام عام کریں۔

آخرکار، ہمیں یہ یاد رکھنا ہوگا کہ مذہب انسان کے لیے ہے، انسان مذہب کے لیے نہیں۔ اگر ہمارے عقائد ہمیں انسانیت سے دور کر دیں، تو ہمیں اپنے رویوں پر غور کرنا چاہیے۔ کیونکہ اصل کامیابی اسی میں ہے کہ ہم ایک دوسرے کے لیے آسانیاں پیدا کریں، نہ کہ مشکلات۔

فرقہ وارانہ ہم آہنگی ہی وہ چراغ ہے جو اندھیروں میں روشنی پھیلا سکتا ہے—اگر ہم اسے جلانے کا حوصلہ رکھتے ہوں۔

Communal Harmony — The Last Lamp of Humanity

In today’s world, where humanity prides itself on technological advancement and progress, there is a growing emptiness within hearts. Sectarian divisions and communal biases have distanced people from one another, sowing seeds of hatred based on identity. One must ask: is this truly the civilization we aspire to celebrate?

Communal harmony is not merely a slogan; it is a moral and intellectual necessity. It serves as a bridge connecting diverse beliefs, religions, and ideologies. A society becomes peaceful only when individuals prioritize humanity above their identities and affiliations.

History bears witness to the fact that whenever diversity was embraced, civilizations flourished; and whenever narrow-mindedness prevailed, decline followed. From the syncretic Ganga-Jamuni culture of the Indian subcontinent to the intellectual vibrancy of Andalusia, harmony has always nurtured knowledge, art, and progress.

Regrettably, in the present age, religion is often exploited as a political tool to create divisions among people. While inciting emotions may yield short-term gains, the long-term consequences are borne by society as a whole. When the fire of hatred spreads, it does not discriminate—it consumes everyone. It is not the defeat of one group, but of humanity itself.

What we need today is openness of heart, encouragement of dialogue, and the wisdom to prevent disagreements from turning into hostility. Educational institutions, media, and religious leaders must all take responsibility in promoting values of compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Ultimately, we must remember: religion exists for humanity, not humanity for religion. If our beliefs distance us from one another, it is time to reflect upon our attitudes. True success lies in making life easier for others, not in creating hardships.

Communal harmony is the lamp that can illuminate even the darkest times—if only we have the courage to keep it alive.
