سونم وانگچک جنتر منتر پہنچ گئے، سی جے پی کے احتجاج کی حمایت میں بھوک ہڑتال شروع

نئی دہلی: معروف ماحولیاتی کارکن اور تعلیمی مصلح سونم وانگچک نے اتوار کے روز نئی دہلی کے جنتر منتر پر جاری احتجاج میں شرکت کرتے ہوئے بھوک ہڑتال شروع کر دی۔ یہ احتجاج کاکروچ جنتا پارٹی (CJP) کی جانب سے مبینہ امتحانی بے ضابطگیوں کے خلاف اور مرکزی وزیرِ تعلیم دھرمیندر پردھان کے استعفے کے مطالبے کے ساتھ جاری ہے۔

بھوک ہڑتال شروع کرنے سے قبل سونم وانگچک اور سی جے پی کے بانی ابھیجیت دیپکے نے راج گھاٹ جا کر مہاتما گاندھی کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کیا۔

احتجاجی اجتماع سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے سونم وانگچک نے کہا کہ وہ خوشی سے نہیں بلکہ حالات کے تقاضے کے تحت اس جدوجہد میں شامل ہوئے ہیں۔ ان کے مطابق گزشتہ چالیس برس سے تعلیم ان کی زندگی کا اہم مقصد رہی ہے، اس لیے جب نوجوان تعلیمی نظام پر سوال اٹھا رہے ہوں تو خاموش رہنا ممکن نہیں۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر حکومت بروقت حساسیت اور جواب دہی کا مظاہرہ کرتی تو عوام کو شدید گرمی میں سڑکوں پر بیٹھ کر احتجاج کرنے کی ضرورت پیش نہ آتی۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ جمہوری نظام میں جب جواب دہی ختم ہو جائے تو پرامن احتجاج ہی عوام کا واحد راستہ رہ جاتا ہے۔

Sonam Wangchuk Joins CJP Protest, Begins Hunger Strike at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: Environmental activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk joined the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar on Sunday and began a hunger strike in support of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) agitation. The protesters are demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Before commencing the fast, Wangchuk, along with CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

Addressing the gathering, Wangchuk said he had been "forced to sit here” by the circumstances and not by choice. He noted that education had remained the central mission of his life for nearly four decades, and he could not remain silent when young people raised concerns about the country’s education system.

He added that if the government had acted with greater sensitivity and accountability, people would not have been compelled to stage protests in the scorching heat. According to Wangchuk, peaceful protest remains the last democratic option when institutions fail to ensure accountability.
