باغات کے شہر بنگلور میں، جہاں لاکھوں افراد اردو بولتے اور سمجھتے ہیں، اور جہاں مختلف زبانیں اور ثقافتیں ایک دوسرے سے ہم آغوش ہو کر ایک منفرد تہذیبی منظرنامہ تشکیل دیتی ہیں، ایک اہم ادبی تقریب منعقد ہونے جا رہی ہے۔ ہندوستانی اردو منچ (HUM) کے زیرِ اہتمام 6 جون 2026 بروز ہفتہ شام 6:30 بجے ایک خصوصی لیکچر کا انعقاد کیا جا رہا ہے جس کا موضوع ہے:

"اردو–کنڑا ادبی تراجم: چیلنجز اور امکانات”

اس علمی و ادبی نشست کے مہمانِ خصوصی معروف شاعر، ادیب، مترجم اور ساہتیہ اکادمی و راجیوتسوا ایوارڈ یافتہ ماہر منصور ہوں گے، جو اردو اور کناڈا ادب کے درمیان قائم ہونے والے تخلیقی پلوں، ترجمے کی فنی باریکیوں، لسانی پیچیدگیوں اور مستقبل کے امکانات پر روشنی ڈالیں گے۔ مترجم دراصل دو زبانوں کے درمیان صرف الفاظ نہیں بلکہ تہذیب، احساس اور تاریخ کا سفر بھی منتقل کرتا ہے، اور یہی اس گفتگو کا مرکزی نکتہ ہوگا۔

شام کا ایک خصوصی حصہ "کنڑا سے اردو میں منتقل کی گئی شاعری کی قرأت” پر مشتمل ہوگا، جس میں معروف ادبی شخصیات ملنسار اطہر احمد (سابق ڈائریکٹر آل انڈیا ریڈیو) اور محمد اعظم شاہد (صحافی، کالم نگار، ادیب اور رکن کرناٹک اردو اکیڈمی) اپنی آوازوں کے ذریعے ان تراجم کو سامعین تک پہنچائیں گے۔

یہ تقریب صرف ایک لیکچر نہیں بلکہ دو زبانوں، دو ادبی روایتوں اور دو ثقافتی دھاروں کے درمیان مکالمے کی ایک روشن مثال ہے۔ ایسے پروگرام اس حقیقت کو اجاگر کرتے ہیں کہ زبانیں دیواریں نہیں بلکہ پل ہوتی ہیں، اور ترجمہ ان پلوں پر چلنے والا سب سے خوبصورت قافلہ ہے۔ بنگلور جیسے کثیرالثقافتی شہر میں ایسی ادبی سرگرمیاں نہ صرف اردو اور کناڈا کے باہمی تعلقات کو مضبوط کرتی ہیں بلکہ ہندوستان کی مشترکہ تہذیبی روح کو بھی نئی توانائی عطا کرتی ہیں۔

A Literary Evening Celebrating the Bridge Between Urdu and Kannada in Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, the celebrated “Garden City of India,” where hundreds of thousands of Urdu speakers live alongside communities representing diverse linguistic traditions, an important literary gathering is set to celebrate the enduring dialogue between languages and cultures.

The Hindustani Urdu Manch (HUM) will host a special guest lecture on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., on the theme:

“Urdu–Kannada Literary Translations: Challenges and Possibilities.”

The keynote speaker will be the distinguished poet, author, translator, and writer Mahir Mansoor, recipient of the Sahitya Akademi and Rajyotsava honours. His lecture is expected to explore the art and responsibility of literary translation—an endeavour that carries not merely words from one language to another, but also history, emotion, memory, and cultural identity.

The event will take place at HUM Centre, Queens Road, Bengaluru.

A special segment of the evening will feature Urdu recitations of poetry translated from Kannada, presented by noted literary personalities Milansaar Athar Ahmed, former Director of All India Radio, and Mohammed Azam Shahid, journalist, columnist, writer, and member of the Karnataka Urdu Academy.

More than a literary programme, this gathering symbolizes the meeting of two rich traditions of expression. Translation serves as a bridge across linguistic boundaries, enabling stories, ideas, and emotions to travel beyond their native homes.
