متحدہ عرب امارات کے شہر فجیرہ میں ایک ایرانی ڈرون کے روکے جانے کے بعد اس کا ملبہ آئل فسیلٹی پر گرنے سے آگ بھڑک اٹھی، جس کے نتیجے میں جاری اے ٹی پی چیلنجر ٹینس ٹورنامنٹ معطل کر دیا گیا۔

یہ واقعہ Fujairah Challenger کے دوران پیش آیا، جو اے ٹی پی کے دوسرے درجے کے عالمی سرکٹ کا حصہ ہے۔ حکام کے مطابق، ڈرون کی فضائی روک تھام کے بعد گرنے والا ملبہ ٹورنامنٹ کے مقام سے تقریباً 15 کلومیٹر دور ایک آئل فیلڈ پر گرا، جس سے شدید آگ اور دھوئیں کا بڑا بادل اٹھتا دیکھا گیا۔

اے ٹی پی انتظامیہ نے مقامی حکام اور سیکیورٹی مشیروں سے مشاورت کے بعد دن بھر کے لیے کھیل منسوخ کرنے کا اعلان کیا۔ سوشل میڈیا پر وائرل ویڈیو میں بیلاروس کے کھلاڑی دانیئل اوستاپینکوف اور جاپان کے ہایاتو ماتسوکا کو پبلک اعلان کے بعد محفوظ مقام کی طرف دوڑتے دیکھا گیا۔

یوکرین کے کھلاڑی ولادیسلاو اورلوف نے انسٹاگرام پر بتایا کہ میچ کے دوران جیٹ طیاروں کی آوازیں سنائی دے رہی تھیں اور پہاڑ کے قریب دھواں دکھائی دے رہا تھا، جس سے صورتحال غیر محفوظ محسوس ہو رہی تھی۔

اماراتی وزارتِ دفاع کے مطابق، 28 فروری سے اب تک ایران کی جانب سے داغے گئے 186 میزائلوں میں سے 172 کو تباہ کر دیا گیا، 13 سمندر میں گرے جبکہ ایک میزائل ملکی حدود میں گرا۔ مزید برآں 755 ڈرونز کو روکا گیا جبکہ 57 اماراتی حدود میں گرے۔ حملوں کے نتیجے میں اب تک تین افراد ہلاک اور 68 زخمی ہوئے ہیں۔

امارات نے ان حملوں کو “کھلی جارحیت” اور قومی خودمختاری کی سنگین خلاف ورزی قرار دیتے ہوئے اپنے دفاع کا حق محفوظ رکھنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

یہ پیش رفت International Atomic Energy Agency کی اس حالیہ رپورٹ کے بعد سامنے آئی ہے جس میں ایران کے جوہری پروگرام پر عالمی بحث جاری ہے، جبکہ خطے میں امریکی و اسرائیلی کارروائیوں کے بعد کشیدگی مسلسل بڑھ رہی ہے۔

An ATP Challenger tennis tournament in the United Arab Emirates was suspended after debris from an intercepted Iranian drone caused a fire at an oil facility in Fujairah.

The incident occurred during the Fujairah Challenger, part of the ATP’s second-tier global circuit. Authorities confirmed that falling debris from a drone interception ignited a blaze at an oilfield approximately 15km from the tournament venue.

Following consultations with local authorities and security advisers, ATP officials cancelled play for the remainder of the day as a precautionary measure.

Videos circulating on social media showed Belarusian player Daniil Ostapenkov and Japan’s Hayato Matsuoka rushing for shelter after a public security announcement. Ukrainian player Vladyslav Orlov stated that he heard fighter jets overhead during his match and observed smoke near the mountains, describing the environment as unsafe.

According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, since February 28 — when US-Israeli strikes on Iran began — the UAE has intercepted 186 Iranian missiles. Of these, 172 were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and one landed within the country. Additionally, 755 drones were intercepted, while 57 fell on UAE territory.

Three people have reportedly been killed and 68 injured in the UAE as a result of the escalating attacks.

The UAE condemned the strikes as “blatant aggression” and affirmed its right to respond in order to safeguard sovereignty, security, and national interests.

The developments come amid rising regional tensions following US-Israeli military actions against Iran, with growing concerns over disruptions to Gulf energy infrastructure and global markets.
