کل 12 فروری 2026 کو بھارت میں ایک بھارت بند (نہ صرف ہڑتال بلکہ ملک گیر احتجاج) منایا جائے گا، جس میں مرکزی ٹریڈ یونینوں اور کسان تنظیموں نے حصہ لینے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ اس ہڑتال کا مقصد حکومت کی حالیہ پالیسیوں، خاص طور پر چار نئے لیبر کوڈز کے نفاذ اور India–United States interim trade agreement جیسے معاہدے کے خلاف آواز اٹھانا ہے، جس کے بارے میں ماہرین کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ بھارتی کسانوں اور مزدوروں کے مفادات کے خلاف ہے۔ (The Economic Times)

احتجاج کے منتظمین اپنے مطالبات میں چار نئے لیبر کوڈز کا واپس لینا، ڈرافٹ سیڈ بل، الیکٹریسٹی ترمیمی بل، اور “SHANTI Act” جیسی قوانین کی منسوخی سمیت، MGNREGA جیسے روزگار اسکیموں کی بحالی بھی شامل کر رہے ہیں۔

A nationwide Bharat Bandh (general strike) is scheduled for February 12, 2026, called by a coalition of central trade unions and farmers’ organisations to protest government policies.
